Describing People There are many ways to describe a person. One common way to describe somebody is based on appearance. Remember there is a group of adverbs we use to intensify the adjectives they accompany. Find below some examples to use them:

Example: She is 97 years old She’s extremely old OR she is very elderly.

She’s the most beautiful woman in the world. She’s absolutely gorgeous.

He is an Olympic weightlifter He’s extremely muscular / strong / well-built.

She will only eat one piece of fruit a day, and nothing else she’s very skinny.

Since I stopped cycling to work, I’ve put on a bit of weight I’m quite /fairly chubby
