Witnesses were John James McDonald andCatherine McDonald. She died on 5 May 1894 in Dracut, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, at age 33. Catherine diedafter the birth of her fifth child. She was taken back to Cornwall, Ontario, Canada to be buried. She was buried on 8 May1894 in St. Mary's Catholic Church, Williamstown, Glengarry County, Ontario, Canada, 45.146922~-74.580635.

iii. ALEXANDER was born circa 1863 in Ontario, Canada.29

CATHERINE ELIZABETH4 MACDONALD (Duncan3, Alexander2, Duncan1) was born on 1 Jan 1861 in Charlottenburgh Township, Glengarry County,Ontario, Canada.31 She married Francis Isaac Hill, son of Isaac Hill Jr and Eliza Ann Peabody, on 22 Jan 1883 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Williamstown,Glengarry County, Ontario, Canada, 45.146922~-74.580635. Witnesses were John James McDonald and Catherine McDonald.32 She died on 5 May 1894 inDracut, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, at age 33. Catherine died after the birth of her fifth child. She was taken back to Cornwall, Ontario, Canada to beburied.33 She was buried on 8 May 1894 in St. Mary's Catholic Church, Williamstown, Glengarry County, Ontario, Canada, 45.146922~-74.580635.34 She lived at Lot No. 12 North of the South Branch of the River Aux Raisins, 2nd Concession, Charlottenburgh Township, Glengarry County, Ontario,Canada, 45.157979~-74.634856, before 1880.5 She lived in Lowell, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, in 1880. Catherine is listed in the 1880 census among17 other women residing in a boarding house, most of whom were employed in a cotton mill. Also listed is what appears to be her sister Mary McDonald, age21, and another woman named Ellen McDonald (age 17), all of whom were born in Ontario, Canada, as well as all of their parents.35 Catherine McDonaldcame from Williamstown, Cornwall, Ontario, Canada to work in the textile mills of Lowell, MA, where she met and married Francis Isaac Hill.36 Children of Catherine Elizabeth4 MacDonald and Francis Isaac Hill all born in Dracut, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, were as follows:

i. JOHN ALEXANDER5 was born on 16 Aug 1883.37 He married Charlotte Adele Johnston, daughter of John F. Johnstonand Sarah Ann Murray, on 27 Nov 1905 in Dracut, Middlesex County, Massachusetts.38 He died on 24 Jul 1948 at age64.39 He and Charlotte Adele Johnston lived at 68 Baldwin Street, Lowell, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, in 1920. Johnwas employed as an engineer in a cotton mill.40 He and Charlotte Adele Johnston lived in Chelmsford, Middlesex County,Massachusetts, in 1930.41

ii. ISAAC was born on 23 Sep 1885.42 He married Margaretta Pauline (--?--) before 1940.43 He died on 27 Feb 1953 at age67.39 Isaac and Margaretta adopted a girl and a boy. The girl was a bit older than Rowena Hill Scott, so would have beenborn about 1918 or so.44 He and Margaretta Pauline (--?--) lived in Redbank, Monmouth County, New Jersey, in 1940.43

iii. ROLAND MCDONALD was born on 26 Jul 1888.45 He married Louisa Pearce, daughter of Joseph Howell Pearce andElizabeth Wooldridge, on 3 Jul 1918 in Concord, Merrimack County, New Hampshire.46 He died on 16 Sep 1966 in LowellGeneral Hospital, Lowell, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, at age 78.47 He was interred on 19 Sep 1966 in Oakland

Cemetery, on Mamoth Road, Dracut, Middlesex County, Massachusetts.48 He was stationed at Fort Devens, Massachusetts during World War I. (The 1930 census indicates he was in themilitary during World War I.).49 He and Louisa Pearce lived at 586 Lakeview Avenue, Dracut, Middlesex County,Massachusetts, in 1920.50 He lived at the corner of Lakeview and Parker Avenues, Dracut, Middlesex County,Massachusetts, in a two family house early in 1921.51

iv. HAROLD FRANCIS was born on 25 Dec 1890.52 He married Mildred Sawyer circa 1919.53 He died on 6 Jul 1956 at age65.54 He and Mildred Sawyer lived at 261 Geneva Avenue, Boston, Suffolk County, Massachusetts, in 1930.55 He andMildred Sawyer lived in Dorchester, Suffolk County, Massachusetts, in 1940.43 He ran a truck repair business in Bostonfor many years and did business with the city government.56
