LaYing the FoundationsIntegration is achieved through a unique set of core modules. Each module is taught by multiple professors from different disciplines–no other MBA program in the world offers this ground-breaking collaborative approach. A summer Base Camp covers fundamental quantitative methods, followed by a Global Leadership module that will help you reflect on what success means for you and what goals and responsibilities (personal, organizational and societal) you would like to assume in the business world.

integrating disCipLines Students then begin the Integrated Core curriculum which consists of four modules. The first module, Business Tools, covers the analytical skills they will need in making decisions. This is followed by Managing Resources and Value Creation, which provide an understanding of the portfolio of resources available to managers (human, financial and technological), to create value through the operations of the organization. Lastly, the Markets and Globalization module will challenge you to introduce this value to the global marketplace. deVeLoping keY skiLLsTo integrate hard and soft skills, as well as academic and professional experiences, a number of support workshops cover career development, presentation skills and case analysis. The entire first semester culminates in the Desautels Cup, a three day case competition which brings together the concepts covered in the first term.

speCiaLizingOnce students have completed the first semester, they have the opportunity to specialize in one or two concentrations: Finance, Marketing, Global Strategy and Leadership, or Technology and Innovation Management. Each concentration is supported by leading executives from around the world, who help shape the curriculum to best reflect current business needs.

BuiLding experienCe Students are also required to fulfill an Experiential Component, which can be in the form of a paid internship, guided field practicum, or study abroad experience. You may choose to participate in an international exchange, experiencing the socio-economic and cultural contexts of another country, while studying at leading universities in Asia Pacific, Europe, Africa, the Middle East or the Americas.

interdisCipLinarY approaCh The MBA program has made interdisciplinary options for students a priority. Joint MBA programs such as our MBA-Law and MD-MBA provide students with a specialized knowledge base while preparing them for management and leadership roles. accelerated studyQualified candidates who have completed a Bachelor of Commerce or Business Administration degree from a recognized North American university may apply for the accelerated study option. appLiCation deadLinesThe program begins in August and lasts 20 months (four semesters). The language of instruction is English. The application deadline for admission is March 15 for international students and May 1 for Canadian residents. Applicants are advised to submit their application as early as possible. Admission decisions are usually rendered within six weeks upon receipt of a completed application (including all supporting documents).

Applicants are required to apply online and pay a non-refundable application fee of C$100.

admission requirementsThe Desautels MBA program is designed for high achievers who show strong managerial and leadership potential. Students are required to meet strict admission criteria.

Application requirements include:

• Transcripts from undergraduate and other graduate degrees

• Graduate Management Admissions Test scores (GMAT)

• Completion of the TOEFL, when applicable

• Minimum of two years of relevant full time work experience after completion of an undergraduate degree

• A detailed Curriculum Vitae

• Two letters of reference

• Interview with a Desautels MBA representative (only those meeting above criteria)

A number of fellowships and awards are available. Students can also be informed of various loan options.

Estimated living expenses for a single student studying full time and residing in Montreal for a 12-month period are approximately C$19,500.
