Derby Close

Derby Close consists of 22 flats and bungalows and was

completed in 1984. It is situated near Tattenham Corner with

a good range of services and amenities less than a mile

away including a Doctors’ surgery, petrol station, a post-

office, restaurants, pubs and a library.

There is also a good selection of popular local schools, with

Epsom College being a few minutes drive away. Epsom

Location

Epsom is a busy town with a wide variety of facilities and

The Epsom Derby and Oaks were established in 1779 and

1780 though annual races had been held at Epsom since

the 1730s. The 12th Earl of Derby originated the Oakes

stakes. Now one of the 'classic races' and named after his

hunting-box at Woodmansterne. Epsom Salts are a

reminder that the town was once better known for its

medicinal springs.

Further afield

An old bridleway leads for five miles from the racecourse

towards Box Hill. The Rainbow Leisure Centre
