the chairman of the Board of Education now has state officials seriously examining whether to give all public school students laptops instead of textbooks… Now the Board is looking at $1.8 billion in projected costs for textbooks over the next six years, and Christie argues that given technology improvements that have lowered the price of computers, it may be cheaper, to say nothing of innovative, to lease a laptop for each of the state’s 3.7 million students.

Information Literacy Vision for Penn State Students Every Penn State student will be

informationally literate by graduation. This will be a cumulative process throughout the undergraduate years. The means of attaining information literacy will be progressively integrated into the entire Penn State curriculum with growing focus and specificity as students progress through their majors.
