INDUSTRIAL ACTION - MONDAY
Berri Primary School will be open but providing a modified education program for the whole of the school day on Monday 1 July 2019 due to a vote for industrial action by members of the Australian Education Union at this site.
The Education Director has approved the provision of a modified program on the grounds that there will be sufficient staff on duty to enable me to ensure that adequate standards of student safety and welfare can be provided.
Families can send their children to the site as normal. Modified education programs will be provided to students for the whole of the school day. This means that groups of students will be supervised but regular classes will not take place. Normal education programs will resume on Tuesday 2 July 2019.
Please contact Berri Primary School if you have any questions regarding this.

The choir performance is almost
upon us. We have 35 very
enthusiastic choir members this year
who have all been working hard to
learn the songs and actions ready
for our performance at the Chaffey
Theatre. The commissioned work
songs are all about Adelaide’s five
sister cities in Japan, Malaysia, New
Zealand, Texas and China. We have
several children who have solos this
year. Congratulations to Bella,
Shiane, Amelia and Sophia who
have a singing solo. Felicity who is a
narrator and Lily who is one of our
comperes. If you can, come along
and support our children at the
Chaffey Theatre.
Karyn Clarke
Choir Trainer
Performance date:
Tuesday the 6th of August
Time: 7:30 pm
Tickets are available from the Theatre or Theatre outlets from July 3rd.
Cost: $25/adult $15/child

Students and staff have handmade over 1000 felt hearts in the Library this term. The idea was
brought to us by Rhonda, a wonderful volunteer we are lucky to have at Berri Primary. The 1000
Hearts movement was created by a lady in Tasmania wanting to spread hope and kindness. Years
5, 6 and 7 students had the opportunity to volunteer to make hearts during their lunchtimes, one for
themselves and the others to give away. We call our hearts ‘Pocket Hearts’ and they are meant to
be given to others in need of a little extra kindness and hope.
Last week students and staff were interviewed by the Murray Pioneer about our fabulous wellbeing
activities. We were also able to do our first ‘donation’ of hearts to PsychMed. We are looking at
doing more deliveries/donations next week. If you know of an organisation that is helping people
that might need our pocket hearts, please let us know and we’ll get on to it.
As always, if you’d like to volunteer and be part of our Library activities, we’d love to hear from you.
Cheers,
Faye and Tanya F
