Heinz Deitert founded DEPO in 1989 with the objective of realising a more efficient milling technology.
He utilised his extensive experience in the industry to create a complete tool system. The subsequent development of optimal cutting strategies with coordinated tools enables shorter machine run times and ensures a significant increase in productivity in numerous production processes.
The widespread acceptance of the DEPO tooling system enabled the com-pany to establish itself remarkably quickly in the market. Decisive factors here were the level of innovation, flexibility and reliability that DEPO cus-tomers particularly appreciate.
The requirement of offering a “complete package for the toolmaking, moulding and diesinking industry” resulted in the foundation of DEPO Werkzeugmaschinentechnik in 1996.
The development and sale of machine tools and components in con-junction with our milling technology offers all users a high degree of efficiency. The DEPO CAM programming software and milling and strategy training courses complement the holistic corporate concept.
Service is very important for DEPO. Our employees ensure consistent de-velopment, competent advice and planning from the outset, a timely and high quality overall performance and an optimal service. Our staff here are standing by with the latest generation of machining centres, software and our entire tool programme to present you with the latest strategies and products. Come and experience our expertise for yourself.Make an appointment and come and visit us. We would be happy to provide you with information and advice.

FLEXIBILITYA variety of simple and quick-change holding fixtures and extensions allows you to respond quickly to the different cutting task’s requirements, irrespective of wheth-er you need to go deeper or need a different tool diameter. A cylindrical shank shape is possible by turning the holding fixture. The tool geometries that have been tuned to suit different workpiece materials allow them to be machined at a greater depth if there is a supply of coolant to the cutting edge, ensuring the cutting edge is retained for a long time.
MODULARITYThe modular structure means that you are free to adapt the system to the SK40 and HSK-machine separation points of your machinery. The complete compatibility and functionality of interchangeable extensions and holding fixtures give a wide range of combinations for carrying out your cutting tasks.
COST REDUCTIONOur contribution to conserving resources: Making short-shank tools requires less raw material than conventional end mill tools. This sustainability benefit shows up for you as lower prices.
STABILITYRather like a ballpoint pen refill in its casing, the stable support and the short lever arm in the milling tools in the holding fixtures result in high cutting parameters giving short ma-chining times and a good surface quality.
The benefits are obvious

Guide values:vc = 60 m/minap = 0,1 mmf = 0,2 mm/U
The modular design of the DEPO Xpert short shank milling system 2.0 means that with a limited number of individual components it is possible to tackle milling tasks at a greater depth.
The GXSV shrink fit holding fixtures can be directly mounted in the XFHD main adapter with HSK ot SK40 machine joints or with the help of the HFDAV extensions be adapted to even greater depths.
The DEPO interface ensures an exceptional concentricity using a fit cone thread combination and the necessary degree of stiffness with a large planar location. All components have holes for an in-ternal cooling supply, which enables the coolant to be transported into deep cavities as far as the cutting edge.
Always use the shortest possible combination in order to achieve the maximum cutting performance with high cutting data and good surface quality as a result of the stability of the system. If you encounter problems with extremely small draft angles, for exam-ple rib and slot designs, there is the possibility of making suitable adaptations to the cone angle by turning the holders (53-54 HRC), e.g. directly in the milling machine.
Make modifications step by step as far as the maximum range re-quired and always round off the run-out with R ≥ 8mm, in order to maintain the stability of the system.
In the case of cylindrical modifications, a residual wall thickness of less than 2 mm should be turned off up to a maximum of 5 mm be-fore the end of the clamping shank, as otherwise the cross-section will be weakened too much.
Use moderate cutting parameters so that the concentricity is not affected by the turning process.
When shrinking in or out with induction shrinking devices, it is rec-ommended that the power should be set low (around 800 W) so that the holding fixtures do not overheat.
Precision of the parts: all holders and cones are manufactured to an accuracy of 0.002 mm. The fit between the cone and the mount matches H7 / h6.

E.g. tool for cutting aluminium E.g. tool for cutting die and mould steels
It has never before been so easy to find the right cutting ma-terial for processing a workpiece, or to find a suitable solid carbide tool. With the new number and colour-coded number system by DEPO, not only will you find the right tool for the workpiece material very quickly, but also the strength class stamped in the surface of the cutting inserts allows you to make an immediate assessment of the cutting material in terms of its suitability for roughing or finishing.
A 2-digit numerical code at the end of every article descrip-tion provides information regarding which material group the tool should be used with.
In addition, there is a colour code in the catalogue or on the packaging, very much along the lines of the colour codes in DIN ISO 513. This numerical code is applied to each cutting ar-ticle with a permanent label.
