• Do Government Regulations allow me to put my app in the store? (HIPPA, PII, etc.)

• Read and understand the EULA for the MS Store

Customizing the Start Screen

1. Use Unattend.xml• StartTiles settings• Requires the AppID• Up to 12 Apps• See WSIM help file for details

2. Manually Customize then CopyProfile• Stop the task sequence • LTISuspend.wsf

• Make changes• Restart the Task Sequence• Copy Profile is used during the deployment task

sequence

3. Manually Customize – copy layout file to default user• Copy - C:\Users\Administrator\AppData\Local\Microsoft

\Windows\AppsFolderLayout.bin to

C:\Users\Default\AppData\Local\Microsoft \Windows\AppsFolderLayout.bin

More Tips For Start Screen Customization

• To change the color scheme then then use the SystemDefaultBackgroundColor setting in the unattend.xml

• Only Windows 8 Enterprise or domain-joined Windows 8 Pro can customize the Start Screen

• Links to websites will be maintained during the copy process; however icons for these links will not be retained.

• Non-default Windows Store Apps cannot be added to the image; doing so will cause Sysprep to fail. Side loading applications is permitted
