Definition of LIMDU

• Temporary Limited Duty (TLD): is the assignment of a member in a restricted duty status for a period of time to allow treatment, recovery, and rehabilitation. Expectation is that a member

will be returned to duty (RTD) after completion of LIMDU

MTF can approve no more than 2 LIMDU periods in an enlisted member’s career

PERS-454 approves all officer LIMDU

On TDRL, a SM is evaluated every 18 months with PPE. At each PPE interval, the PEB makes a new adjudication: Fit, Unfit. A final disability rating must be made by 5 years.
