Infection Prevention…New Name…Same Great People! We have officially changed our name! In 2014, the Infection Control Department will now be called Infection Prevention. Why? The Infection Control Department has always been focused on three things: 1. Prevention of Infection 2. Surveillance of Infection and 3. Control of Infection The ultimate goal of everything we do is prevention. We focus on protocols and policies to prevent the spread of infections and to prevent hospital-acquired conditions. We study common microorganisms and strange and rare infectious diseases so we know how to prevent our patients from getting sicker and to prevent our patients from transmitting these infectious conditions to our healthcare workers, visitors and other patients. Ultimately, it is the foundation of everything we do. If we can get the prevention part right, we hopefully will spend less time controlling infections. Share Pizza With PamThis is your opportunity to meet over lunch with Pam Dela-gardelle to talk about what’s happening at UnityPoint Health in general and Allen in particular.

Luncheons are open to all Allen associates. Each luncheon is small – only 12 people – so everyone will have a chance to talk. The setting is relaxed, the food will be great and we’ll pick up the tab.
