PREFACE

Chemistry is the science of matter, especially its chemical

reaction, but also its composition, structure & properties. Chemistry is

concerned with atoms at their interaction with other atoms, and

particularly with the properties of chemical bond.

Chemistry is some times called “the central science” because it

connects physics with other natural science such as geology & Biology.

Chemistry is a branch of physical science but distinct from physics.

We stress the general nature of key idea to all area of

Chemistry. Throughout we aim to show the relation of theory to

experiment and to develop an awareness of nature and uses of theory.

Questioning in class room and an oral test are intended to be thought

provoking; they may serve as the basis for class discussion and self study.

Objective of the Department 1) To make Chemistry interesting and popular. 2) To generate the original thinking in Chemistry. 3) To generate skill for performing experiment. 4) To improve physical aptitude among the students. 5) To motivate the students to continue their study in chemistry after graduation. 6) To discuss about new inventions in chemistry. 7) To organize educational tours for students 8) To coach weaker students. 9) To coach students for competitive examinations. 10) To inspire students for science project.

Action plan for 2013-2019

i) Remedial coaching for weak students. ii) Organizing seminar. iii) Organizing Guest Lectures for B.Sc. and M.Sc.

students. iii) Personal guidance to needy students. iv) Oral test in class room v) Conducting regular unit test and terminal

examination. vi) Conducting knowledge test for B.Sc. I students. vii) Conducting Bridge course for B.Sc. I students. viii) Conducting Short term course for students.

Establishment

Vidya Bharati Education Society, Amravati was established in 1950. Dr. D. R. Shekhawat is the founder president of the society.

S.S.S.K.R. Innani Mahavidylaya Karanja run by Vidya Bharati Education Society Amravati. Since faculty of science was started from Academic Session 1983-84 with efforts Late Annasaheb Thakur Karanja. Admitted student can have option two subject groups for the first degree level with chemistry as a common subject.

There is 01 theory papers in subject chemistry for B.Sc. I, II, III,

(Semester I to VI) for each paper 06 theory periods are allotted having

duration of 48 minutes each. While for practical 06 periods per batch in a
