Introduction:-

We have always observed that our students are very afraid of the Physics and

Mathematics. It results in that they are generally reluctant to opt for these subjects. This fear

also results in that the students find difficulties to appear for competitive examination,

because in such examinations they need to be good at mathematics and the logic that the

knowledge of physics brings for them.

Hence, the dept. of Physics and Maths decided to take initiatives to generate the interest of

Mathematics; to enhance the skill of opting the correct answer in multiple choices

questioning; to motivate the students to increase their performance in education and to

encourage them to accept the challenge of the competition in the educational field.

Till 2011, it was organized at regional level but since 2012 the activity has been

conducted at State level. It is named after the Late Secretary Ahmad Bin Abood and thus

entitled as ‘Ahmed Bin Abood Memorial State level Physics-Maths Knowledge.’ Since

then, it has been a routine activity.

Every year, before a month of this scheduled event, the college circulates the brochure

reflecting norms and conditions for the student participants and other details.

The wide publicity of the event is made through the social media, e-mails and through surface

mail also.

Notably, College serves complimentary lunch for the student participants, the teachers and

parents accompanying the participants.

Objectives:-

To create interest in physics and mathematics among the students.

To create understanding among students about the importance of Physics and

mathematics.

To update the knowledge in these subject.

To create awareness among the students about the relationship of Physics and

mathematics.

To prepare the students for various competitive examinations.

Rules and Regulations:-

The test contains 50 multiple choice questions, 25 from Physics and 25 from

Mathematics.

The allotted time is 60 minutes.

Each question will carry one mark.

Only B.Sc. /B.C.S. students can participate.

Registration fee is 100/- per student.

The result declared by the experts shall be final.

All the participants must carry college identity card.

The TA (Bus fare) shall be paid to winners participants only.

The result will be declare on the merit basis and Prize for first three winners will

be as

First Prize: - 2500/-

Second Prize: - 2000/-

Third Prize: - 1500/-

From the last three years the colleges has also started to give separate prize for ‘Best

Performing College with Student Excellence’ in the form Excellence Trophy. It is

awarded to the college from which at least five students get registered and exhibit distinct

performance.
