  • This symposium is designed for obstetricians, gynecologists, family and general practice physicians, resident physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, registered nurses and other interested health practitioners. Participants will increase their knowledge, competence and skills in clinical diagnosis, treatment options and new technologies in obstetrics and gynecology.

    Following the conference, the participant should be able to:• Provide an overview of Texas maternal mortality and morbidity data• Identify evidence-based strategies to improve maternal mortality and morbidity• Recognize how health care teams work collaboratively to improve maternal mortality and morbidity• Review the most common causes of maternal mortality and morbidity• Describe the components of maternal toolkits or maternal bundles related to hemorrhage, hypertension, opioid use and maternal cardiac disease• Use Alliance for Innovation on Maternal Health (AIM) initiatives and understand their impact on maternal outcomes
