MOCK PARLIAMENT

A Mock Parliament session was organised on 30th August, 2013 to inculcate the

finer nuances of debate .The topic of Mock Parliament was ‘Whether women

are better professional/manager than men’.

The students enjoyed and got a platform to enhance their communication

skills. The Mock parliament session resulted in many good ideas and views of

students regarding a Women Manager. It was organised by prof. Panakj Pethe.

GUEST LECTURE BY PROF. SAYAN BANERJEE (IMT)

A Guest Lecture was organised on 31st August 2013 for students of MBA

Department, on the topic ‘Macro Economic Challenges for India’. The speaker

Prof Sayan Banerjee was from IMT- Nagpur. The lecture helped the students to

get a glimpse of Indian Economy and the difficulties and challenges that India is

facing. It was organised by Prof. Madhu Menon.

BOS MEETING ON 17 Aug 2013

Board of Studies (BOS) had a meeting on 17th

August 2013. The

Head of department, T & P Officer, IMT Prof. (J. Matharu) and other

professors were discussed various issues in the meeting, like syllabus

completion, Students performance, Extracurricular Activities,

programme outcomes of the subjects etc.

The outcome of the meeting was future strategies and action

plan to improve the current level and quality of education.

CSR ACTIVITIES at ANANDVAN

Every year the department as a part of its corporate social responsibility program

organizes such visit to some under privilege section of the society. This will help our

budding managers to know about the need of under privilege people.

CSR is generally understood to be the way a company achieves a balance or integration

of economic, environmental, and social imperatives while at the same time addressing

shareholder and stakeholder expectations. CSR is generally accepted as applying to

firms wherever they operate in the domestic and global economy. The way businesses

engage/involve the shareholders, employees, customers, suppliers, governments,

nongovernmental organizations, international organizations, and other stakeholders is

usually a key feature of the concept. While business compliance with laws and

regulations on social, environmental and economic objectives set the official level of

CSR performance, CSR is often understood as involving the private sector

commitments and activities that extend beyond this foundation of compliance with laws.

The CSR activities help the managers it is important to look beyond profits and balance

sheet. The futures managers learn about balance the needs of society and environment

at large. It is important for business to take responsibility for its actions, that business

must be fully accountable.

Every year the department as a part of its corporate social responsibility program

organizes such visit to some under privilege section of the society. This year the visit is

to Anandwan the students were briefed about the life and work of Baba Amte. The

students visit the blind School and deaf and dumb school. The students had a brief

interaction with the teacher and students of the school. The students also showed

different activities taking place in the Anandwan.

GANESH FESTIVAL CELEBRATION

‘Ganpati Bappa Morya’ hymn uplifted the atmosphere of GHRCE on the day of Ganesh

Chatruthi festival organised by the Department of MBA and MCA. All students

enthusiastically welcomed Ganesh ji in Department. Decoration was over whelming

increasing the charm of Ganeshjis Idol.

Most of the students were in traditional dresses enjoying the traditional atmosphere.

Ganesh Idol Sthapana followed by Aarti and at last Prasadam. All faculty members were

present during the event. Prof. Rupali Verulkar and Prof. Vaidehi Chikhlikar werethe In

charge of the event.

INDUSTRIAL VISIT AT BAJAJ STEEL LTD, NAGPUR

Industrial Visit was organised for MBA students at Bajaj Steel Industries Limited, on 7

Sep 2013 Nagpur . Students got a good idea about a steel plants functioning. Also students

got well acquainted with the process of manufacturing of steel and its casting.

Also they got a chance to interact with company officials and workers.Prof. M.

Menon was the In charge of the visit.

ENTREPRENEURSHIP DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME

The ENTREPRENEURSHIP DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME was organised by the

Department of Management studies on 11 Sept - 24th

Sept 2013 for MBA III SEM . There

were various academics and industrialist persons , who took the lectures related to

entrepreneurship development programme.

It was very interactive session and students were also participated in this session.

They cleared their doubts and queries about the entrepreneurs. They got a lot of knowledge,

ideas and take imitative part in this session.
