ScholarshipsFour scholarships of $1000 each for first-time freshman entering UT Martin and declaring a major in one of the department’s concentrations.

Four scholarships of $1,000 each (to be applied to next academic year’s education expenses) are available to all students majoring in the department who have been enrolled for at least two semesters.

About our Concentrations

Exercise Science and Wellness ConcentrationExercise Science & Wellness has been developed to accommodate the prerequisite course work for graduate study and careers in Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Chiropractic, Cardiac Rehabilitation, Physician Assistant as well as many other health-related professions.

Program Highlights:• 10- week Internship anywhere in the world• 3 full semesters of Clinical Laboratory Experience prior to internship• Majors will be ACSM and NSCA certification-ready• Service Learning Opportunities in Health Promotion available

K-12 LicensureOur licensure program is one of three in the State of Tennessee which is NCATE and State Board approved offering both a Physical Education K-12 and a Health and Wellness K-12 endorsement. Students interested in coaching are also invited to pursue this option.

Program Highlights:• Provides Dual Licensure in Physical Education K-12 and Health & Wellness K-12• 3 semesters of field experience in area schools prior to student teaching• 15-week Student Teaching experience including elementary and secondary levels• Coaching Minor available for students outside HHP
