- The term wise feedback from the students on staff is taken on structured questionnaire with
respect to curriculum, teaching learning and evaluation and feed back is analyzed and important
suggestions are discussed in the department meeting for course correction. Issues requiring the
attention of the college are forwarded to the principal for further action.

Internal assessment of students by conducting theory, clinical examinations and viva- voce once
in three month(formative assessment)
Monthly evaluation of department through monthly progress report.
The department has a policy and practice of formative and summative assessment. The summative
assessment is designed with view to ensure the learning objectives are met and learning outcome is
monitored. The formative assessment is through quiz, class test and chair side examination. The
department also has this practice of getting regular feedback analyzed and used for corrective action.

- Faculties attend various camps conducted by KVGDC, students are posted in different satellite
centers and attend camps regularly.

The UG students are encouraged to participate in seminars, workshops and UG conferences etc.
The post graduate students are required to compulsorily attend national conferences, present scientific
papers, and publish articles during their training period.

- No. presently the department is not accredited by other agencies.

- Our department is actively and regularly conducting CDE programmes, and oral health awareness
programmes.
- Staff members publish scientific papers and do presentation in state level and national conferences.
- Staff members and PG students participate in Conferences, PG conventions, Hands-on courses, and
certificate courses.

Strength
a. Faculty with good teaching experience
b. Infrastructure: well furnished and spacious department.
c. Rural patient get advanced treatment for mucosal lesions and TMJ disorders in the department.
d. Good department Library and Internet facilities with wifi.
e. Collaboration with Malabar Cancer Centre for PG training on surgical and radiation oncology
and also training in the KVG Medical College in various departments.

Weakness
Since Sullia is one of the rural areas of the country, amenities such as huge conference hall and
lodging facilities are inadequate for conducting national level Oral Medicine and Radiology
conferences.
Advanced laboratory services are not available in the vicinity.
Adequate research funds have not been acquired.
Opportunities
To conduct studies on habit related oral diseases since people of this area consume more tobacco
products
To educate rural population on habit related diseases
To provide advanced oral treatment to the rural population
