Every culture has a signature dumpling in its cuisine, a dough surrounding a filling that’s steamed, boiled, fried, or baked. In this hands-on cooking class, we’ll make several styles of international dumplings over two nights and create a dumpling party for the final class. Set off on a tour of the many Asian gastronomic delights! If you crave the myriad of Thai noodle dishes, Vietnamese sizzling rice crepes, and Japanese izakaya fare, then this class is for you. In this class, your knowledgeable chef instructor will demonstrate different techniques and traditional recipes used in making classic Chinese dim sum recipes: steamed buns, pot stickers, and other Asian dumplings.

AHA Heartsaver First Aid

This is a fundamental training program in emergency care that incorporates CPR and other emergency skills into a single course. Emphasis is on utilizing the priorities of care and approach to the patient as demonstrated by professional emergency care providers. The core program provides minimum information and skills for a variety of environments and can be supplemented with additional first aid topics specific to the needs of the course participants.

HIV/AIDS Education

HIV/AIDS Education provides the healthcare professional with mandatory instruction involving information/knowledge associated with HIV/AIDS, Hepatitis, tuberculosis, and related diseases. The course presents the six state-required topics of etiology and epidemiology, transmission and infection control, testing and counseling, clinical manifestations and treatment, legal and ethical issues, and psychosocial issues. Students completing this class will receive a certificate documenting the mandatory training.

Suicide Prevention Training

This interactive course is for healthcare professionals responsible for the care and safety of those patients/clients at elevated risk for suicidal behaviors in all settings and across the age span. Six clock hours of continuing education credit may be obtained upon completion.
