II ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS for M.Phil.

The candidate seeking admission to M.Phil. programme must have a minimum of 55% of marks in the aggregate in M.Com. / MIB/ MHROD / MFC / MBA Examination with relaxation of 5% marks for SC/ST/OBC and Persons with Disability.

Candidate with other post graduate degrees considered equivalent to the M.B.A. degree of the University of Delhi and other Indian Universities are also eligible to apply. However, such candidates with degrees other than M.Com. / MIB/ MHROD / MFC / MBA, would be required to furnish an equivalence certificate from the Association of Indian Universities / Delhi University or any other competent authority.

Candidates who have appeared for the above mentioned post graduate programme can also apply. However, such candidates will be allowed to appear for the entrance test only provisionally. Their applications will be considered subject to submission of their final results within a prescribed time stipulated by the Department and fulfillment of the minimum eligibility requirements.

III ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS FOR Ph.D.:

1. Eligibility Criteria for admission is minimum 55% marks in M.Com./M.Phil/MBA/ MIB/MHROD/MFC/MBA(IB)/MBA(HRD), from a recognized University with 5% relaxation for OBC/SC/ST and Persons with Disability. No Candidate shall be eligible to register for the Ph.D. programme if he/she is already registered for any full time programme of study in any University/Institution.

2. Foreign Students with their national or other fellowships recognized by the University or sponsored by their employers, may be given provisional admission, followed by confirmation through due process after a stipulated period of time. Foreign nationals must provide evidence of language competence suited to the Department they wish to join. Further, Foreign students must show proof of financial support for the duration of the Ph.D. enrolment.

3. Faculty members who have completed two years of service in a Department / Constituent Colleges of the University of Delhi.

4. Candidates with Masters or equivalent degree appeared in a written entrance exam conducted by the Department and their entrance result is valid. The entrance test result shall remain valid till the next entrance test is held or for one year, whichever is earlier.

5. Candidates who have cleared a national level examination like CSIR/UGC-NET-JRF, DBT-JRF, ICMR-JRF, DST-INSPIRE or equivalent valid fellowship may appear for interview without appearing in the departmental entrance test. Candidates who have appeared in the above examinations but await results may also apply. However, they shall be called for the interview only upon providing a valid documentary evidence of having qualified for the fellowship. Candidates who have already initiated their fellowships in some other institution and are interested to have the fellowship transferred to the University of Delhi may also apply, provided the period of available fellowship is at least 4 years.

6. The candidates who have been awarded lectureship in the CSIR/UGC-NET (or equivalent examination) may also directly appear for interview.

7. Candidates who have obtained M.Phil. degree or candidates having a Master’s degree with at least two-year research experience in a reputed institution may appear for direct admission without entrance test, if the candidate has national level fellowship.

8. Candidates having a Masters degree with at least two-year research experience in a reputed institution may appear for interview directly provided the candidate has national level fellowship. Note: No student registered for the Ph.D. programme shall be permitted to undertake any fulltime course during the pendency of the programme.

As per Revised Ordinance VI-B (Ph. D), entrance test would be exempted for the following categories of candidates and they are eligible for direct interview:

Category IICandidates who have cleared a national level examination like CSIR/UGC-NET-JRF, DBT-JRF, ICMR-JRF, DST-INSPIRE or equivalent valid fellowship may appear for interview without appearing in the departmental entrance test. Candidates who have appeared in the above examinations but await results may also apply for direct interview.

Category IIICandidates who have obtained M.Phil. degree or candidates having a Master’s degree with at least two-year research experience in a reputed institution may appear for direct admission without entrance test, if the candidate has national level fellowship. For obtaining Non-NET fellowships, such candidates have to appear in entrance examination.Category IVCandidates holding fellowships/research positions in research projects (subject to selection by duly constituted committee as per the University norms for research projects) may appear directly for interview.Category VScientists/professionals working at defense and space institutions/organizations/R&D institutes of the Government of India/State Government and with whom the University has signed a Memorandum of Understanding may directly appear for interview.Category VIFaculty members who are in service in the University of Delhi and who have a minimum of two years’ teaching/research experience may directly appear for interview.

RESIDENCY CONDITION FOR ADMISSION TO PH.D. PROGRAMMEWherever applicable employed students must obtain study leave for a period of two years to fulfill the residency requirement of the University.

IV COMMON ENTRANCE TEST FOR Ph.D. and M.Phil.

a) The Entrance Test of 2 hours duration would be held at the Examination centre.∑ It would Consist of 200 objective type questions. The break-up of which is as follows: o Statistics : 35 Questionso Accounting Finance & Tax : 35 Questionso International Business & Marketing : 35 Questionso Economics : 35 Questionso HRM : 30 Questionso Law : 30 Questions

Each question would carry one mark and a wrong answer would result in negative marking of 1/4th mark.

b) The Fees for entrance test as per university guidelines No. Aca. I/M.Phil. and Ph.D. Guidelines/2013/508 dated 27th December 2013 would be:

c) Admit Card will be sent by post.d) For M.Phil.: Those who qualify in the written Entrance Test will be called for interview.

For Ph.D.: Those who qualify the written Entrance Test will be required to submit research proposalby a stipulated date to be announced later.
