Awards Requirements

Accountancy Scholarships $200 - $1,000

Declared major in accounting within the department. Demonstrates a desire to graduate and contribute to said career field.

RSM Scholarship $500 2 Awards

Accounting Major. Selection based on academic performance and participation in accounting organizations and activities. Financial need not a consideration.

Colonel Marinda Coultas Wood Scholarship

$2,000

Awarded to an upper division full-time accounting major. Must have completed intermediate accounting and have a minimum GPA of 3.2 in accounting. Preference given to applicants from Scott, Morgan, Greene, and Pike counties in Illinois and to applicants who plan to sit for the CMA exam.

Craig R. Neader Scholarship $2,000 3 Awards

Must be enrolled at WIU majoring in accounting and be entering 4th or 5th year of the Integrated Accounting Program. Overall GPA of 3.0 and Accounting GPA of 3.0. Must be involved in BAP and must be a United States citizen.

J. David and Nancy Smith Scholarship

$1,000

Accounting major. Participation in department activities and dedication to good study habits and school work. Demonstrated financial need for professional development award.

Samuel Oliva Scholarship

$2,000 3 Awards

Have completed 60 SH at the end of spring semester of application. Be a declared accounting major or a candidate for the Master of Accountancy degree. Overall GPA of 3.2 and Accounting GPA of 3.2. Demonstrate leadership through involvement in BAP, SCIMA, Society of Accountancy. Full time or part time (min. of 6 SH and demonstrate continuous enrollment and progress toward graduation).

Society of Accountancy Scholarship WIU-QC

$350

Awarded to a member of the WIU-QC Society of Accountancy. Selected by officers of the Society of Accountancy based on participation in SOA activities.

George Krull Jr. Scholarship

$500

Awarded to a junior accounting major. Selected based on academic performance and participation in accounting organizations and activities.

Thomas R. Rauman Scholarship

$1,000

Accountancy major. Sophomore, Junior, Senior enrolled in the Integrated Master’s Degree program or current graduate student. Selection based on academic performance and participation in accounting organizations and activities.

Penelope J. Yunker Scholarship

$1000

Be enrolled at WIU majoring in accounting and be entering the 5th year of the Integrated Accounting Program or be enrolled in the Master of Accountancy program. GPA of 3.25 overall & in accounting. Must be able to document involvement in accounting student organization.

John Deere & Co. Scholarships

$1,000 2 Awards

Accounting major. Cumulative GPA of 3.0. Must be work eligible in the US on a full time permanent basis.

Bruce Kruse Scholarship

$750

Accounting major with preference to students from Auburn, Divernon, Pawnee, Virden and Waverly Counties. Selection based on academic performance and participation in accounting organizations and activities.

Thomas Nardi Scholarship

$2,000

Awarded to accounting major with preference given to students from Auburn, Divernon, Pawnee, Virden and Waverly counties. Selection based on academid performance and participation in accounting organizations and activities.

Harriet Hunt Memorial Scholarship

$500

Awarded to Quad Cities Campus accounting major. Selected by the faculty at the WIU-QC campus based on academic performance

Marcus K. Sipolt Scholarship $1,000 3 Awards

Accounting Major; 90 semester hours earned by end of spring semester; 3.5 GPA

Dr. Robert M, & Judith A. Crowley Scholarship

$1,000

Applicants must either be an Accounting major admitted to the Masters of Accountancy Program or an Accounting major enrolled in the integrated program. Scholarship awarded competitively (GPA minimum 3.0 overall and in accounting). This award is for students who do not have a Graduate Assistantship.

Rhonda Haffner Scholarship $1,500

Accounting Major – undergraduate or graduate student; Earned at least 60+ semester hours; Minimum GPA 3.5; Graduate of West Prairie High School (If no West Prairie High School graduate, then consider a McDonough or Hancock county resident); Preference to Beta Alpha Psi or SCIMA member.
