ATHLETICS: JUMPING EVENTS The athletic jumping events are:

1) High Jump: competitors must jump over a horizontal bar

without the aid of any devices.

2) Long Jump: in it, competitors sprint down a runway and jump as

far as they can from behind a foul line into a sand pit (a pit

filled with sand.)

3) Triple Jump: The triple jump (also called hop, step and jump) is similar to the

long jump, but involving a “hop, step and jump” routine. The competitor runs

along the track and must do a hop, a step and then a jump into the sand pit.

4) Pole Vault: event in which a person uses a long, flexible pole as an aid to jump

over a bar

GYMNASTICS SKILLS

The forward roll: (voltereta hacia delante) is a complete roll on the ground.

The backward roll: (volterea hacia atrás) is similar to the forward roll, but in reverse

MERENGUE Merengue is a style of Dominican music and dance. Partners hold each other in a closed

position. Partners bend their knees slightly left and right, thus making the hips move

left and right. The hips of the leader and follower move in the same direction

throughout the song. Partners may walk sideways or circle each other, in small steps.

RACKETS 1.- BASIC RULES.

Rackets is a game played by either two players (singles) or four (doubles)

It is played on a rectangular court, divided by a net in the middle.

Players stand on opposite sides of a net and they or the rackets can not cross it.

They have to use a racket to hit a ball, from down to up.

You have to hit the ball before second bounce and pass over the net. Only once

bounce is valid.

If the ball touch the line is good.

2.- ASPECTOS TÉCNICOS QUE VAMOS A TRABAJAR EN

CLASE. 2.1. - RACKET GRIP:

It’s important to hit the ball and score. And also to avoid injure.

Orient the string area so that it is perpendicular to the ground

It’s similar to shake someone’s hand, it’s also called Continental.

2.2. - THE SERVE:

We stand behind the back line. We have to hit the ball

after a bounce, from down to up, and pass over the net.

2.3. - SHOTS:

Forehand and Backhand

The forehand is a stroke that begins on the right side of the body, next to the hip,

continues across the body as contact is made with the ball, and ends on the left side of

the body, next to the shoulder. We put forward the opposite foot to let the body

twist.

The backhand is a strike that begins on the left side of their body, continues across

their body as contact is made with the ball, and ends on the right side of their body.

It can be executed with either one hand or with both.
