DENYS PULLMAN Ordinary and insipid, Denys was the kind of guy nobody looked at. This 35-year-old single man lived in a routine, flavourless life, where frustration and loneliness crossed paths. His grey present and his flat future have made his life transparent and without any real depth. Employee of the month in a brokerage company, slave and asset of his boss, Denys turned around in his cage without ever having any stroke of genius. Denys invented a wonderful life in his head. Sometimes, he even con- fused delirium and reality, but when the days rose, Denys woke up to find he was still the same man. And disappointment was great. One day, Denys was forced by his boss to bring urgent files at a disguised event at his house. When he got there, he entered the manor with his suitcase under his arm, and saw, with great astonishment, guests wearing leather and lace enjoying sex and alcohol. He then grabbed a clown mask, put it on his face, forgot most of his mission and let himself join the festivities… until several infected came to crash the party. The marrow eaters were devouring the guest while Denys, who knew very well he wasn’t a warrior, thought he was going to die, like the loser he was. Suddenly, Denys saw his boss, in bad shape, and finally handed him out the urgent papers. As usual, he demeaned Denys and shouted insults at him. The clown then took over him. Delirium became real. Now furiously crazy, Denys smashed his boss’s skull with great pas- sion, took a big kitchen knife and started to strike everything in front of him, infected or unlucky guests… If you meet a clown a little eccen- tric, be nice, he might be mean sometimes.
