Section 5 - FIRE FIGHTING MEASURES ...
FIRE FIGHTING• Alert Fire Brigade and tell them location and nature of hazard.• Wear breathing apparatus plus protective gloves for fire only.• Prevent, by any means available, spillage from entering drains or watercourses.• Use fire fighting procedures suitable for surrounding area.• DO NOT approach containers suspected to be hot.• Cool fire exposed containers with water spray from a protected location.• If safe to do so, remove containers from path of fire.• Equipment should be thoroughly decontaminated after use.
FIRE/EXPLOSION HAZARD• Non combustible.• Not considered a significant fire risk, however containers may burn.Decomposition may produce toxic fumes ofcarbon dioxide (CO2)other pyrolysis products typical of burning organic materialMay emit corrosive fumes.
FIRE INCOMPATIBILITYAvoid contamination with oxidising agents i.e. nitrates, oxidising acids, chlorine bleaches, pool chlorine etc. as ignition may result

Personal Protective Equipment advice is contained in Section 8 of the MSDS.
Section 7 - HANDLING AND STORAGE
PROCEDURE FOR HANDLING
• Limit all unnecessary personal contact.• Wear protective clothing when risk of exposure occurs.• Use in a well-ventilated area.• When handling DO NOT eat, drink or smoke.• Always wash hands with soap and water after handling.• Avoid physical damage to containers.• Use good occupational work practice.• Observe manufacturer's storing and handling recommendations.DO NOT allow clothing wet with material to stay in contact with skin
SUITABLE CONTAINER• Polyethylene or polypropylene container.• Packing as recommended by manufacturer• Check all containers are clearly labelled and free from leaks.
STORAGE INCOMPATIBILITYAvoid reaction with oxidising agents
STORAGE REQUIREMENTSStore in a cool area and away from sunlight.• Store in original containers.• Keep containers securely sealed.• Store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area.• Store away from incompatible materials and foodstuff containers.• Protect containers against physical damage and check regularly for leaks.• Observe manufacturer's storing and handling recommendations.

Section 8 - EXPOSURE CONTROLS / PERSONAL PROTECTION
EXPOSURE CONTROLS
Not available. Refer to individual constituents.
PERSONAL PROTECTION
EYE• Safety glasses with side shields• Chemical goggles.• Contact lenses pose a special hazard; soft lenses may absorb irritants and alllenses concentrate them.
HANDS/FEETWear chemical protective gloves, eg. PVC.Wear safety footwear or safety gumboots, eg. RubberNOTE: The material may produce skin sensitisation in predisposed individuals.Care must be taken, when removing gloves and other protective equipment, toavoid all possible skin contact.
OTHERNo special equipment needed when handling small quantities.OTHERWISE:• Overalls.• Barrier cream.• Eyewash unit.Use dust mask while grinding.
The local concentration of material, quantity and conditions of use determinethe type of personal protective equipment required. For further informationconsult site specific CHEMWATCH data (if available), or your OccupationalHealth and Safety Advisor.
ENGINEERING CONTROLS
General exhaust is adequate under normal operating conditions. If risk ofoverexposure exists, wear SAA approved respirator. Correct fit is essential toobtain adequate protection. Provide adequate ventilation in warehouse or closedstorage areas.

Section 10 - CHEMICAL STABILITY AND REACTIVITY INFORMATION
CONDITIONS CONTRIBUTING TO INSTABILITY
• Presence of incompatible materials.• Product is considered stable.• Hazardous polymerisation will not occur.
Section 11 - TOXICOLOGICAL INFORMATION
POTENTIAL HEALTH EFFECTS
ACUTE HEALTH EFFECTS
SWALLOWED(No Oral LD50, any animal species) The material has NOT been classified by ECDirectives or other classification systems as "harmful by ingestion". This isbecause of the lack of corroborating animal or human evidence. The material maystill be damaging to the health of the individual, following ingestion, especially where pre-existing organ (eg. liver, kidney) damage is evident.Present definitions of harmful or toxic substances are generally based on dosesproducing mortality rather than those producing morbidity (disease, ill-health).Gastrointestinal tract discomfort may produce nausea and vomiting. In anoccupational setting however, ingestion of insignificant quantities is notthought to be cause for concern.
EYEAlthough the liquid is not thought to be an irritant (as classified by ECDirectives), direct contact with the eye may produce transient discomfortcharacterised by tearing or conjunctival redness (as with windburn).

Section 11 - TOXICOLOGICAL INFORMATION ...
SKINThe material is not thought to produce adverse health effects or skin irritationfollowing contact (as classified by EC Directives using animal models).Nevertheless, good hygiene practice requires that exposure be kept to a minimumand that suitable gloves be used in an occupational setting.
INHALEDThe material is not thought to produce adverse health effects or irritation ofthe respiratory tract (as classified by EC Directives using animal models).Nevertheless, good hygiene practice requires that exposure be kept to a minimumand that suitable control measures be used in an occupational setting.
CHRONIC HEALTH EFFECTSThere is limited evidence that, skin contact with this product is more likely to cause asensitisation reaction in some persons compared to the general population.
