This one-day workshop is designed for General Dental Practitioners who want to have a proper understanding of radiation physics, including radiation hazards, hygiene and production and relevant principles and concepts in the acquiring and interpretation of panoramic images. It will give participants an overview of the fundamentals of dental panoramic techniques, acquiring digital images, factors affecting image quality and hazards and productions from radiation. The hands-on element of this course will provide the necessary skills in digital manipulation, storage and retrieval of the images and is incorporated with parallax-method-employing panoramic images. Upon completion of this workshop, participants will be able to understand the general design of a controlled area for panoramic images, understand the principles and concepts in acquiring and interpretation of panoramic images, acquire panoramic images, troubleshoot any faults on panoramic images and identify anatomical structures.
