BE A 4-H MEMBER IN GOOD STANDING! (from the New Family 4-H Handbook)

4-H club members are recognized for setting and completing goals each year. At a minimum, a 4-H member should: Attend a majority of your club meetings. Enroll in at least one project and finish it. This includes attending a majority of project meetings,

working on project goals, keeping records on the project. Demonstrate a skill learned or knowledge gained by making a handmade item, exhibiting a project or

project animal at a show or fair; presenting a speech, report, or demonstration in a group setting such as a club or project meeting.

When a 4-H club member meets these requirements, they are recognized for “completing a year of 4-H membership” and are a “Member in Good Standing”. Yearly participation pins and other awards are pre-sented at the annual 4-H Recognition Night dinner in the fall.

4-H Move Across Missouri (MOVE) is back for 2016! Youth and adults can register for it on 4HOnline beginning January 1, 2016. MOVE promotes physical activity and encourages youths to engage in a broad range of activities. There is no pre-registration required this year. To participate: - Enroll in the Move Across Missouri (MOVE) project (HF775) in 4HOnline in your profile. - Use a paper tracking system found on the 4-H website at: http://4h.missouri.edu/4hmove/moveinfo youth and their families can “log” the number of minutes they accumulate throughout the year and during the com-petitive component of the MOVE program (scroll to the bottom of the website page and click “My Move Activity Log”. Record keeping through the paper tracking system is important because the competition period will be from February 1 to April 30. 4-Hers and adults can register for the competitive event as individuals and/or as part of a team. A team can consist of a family or members of a 4-H club or group. Youth and families will submit their total number of minutes logged throughout the competitive period at the end in 4HOnline. The final reporting take place inside of a no cost event registration that will only be open at the end of the competition period from April 30 and May 14. MOVE awards will be provided.
