Social organizations have been in contact with about 900 women thought to be victims of human trafficking (of which some may have been repeats).

Women from Africa constitutes an increasing share of street prostitutes. Other prostitutes are primarily coming from Eastern Europe.

In massage parlours the largest group of women is of a Thai background.

Information on women who stayed in Denmark, covered by the offer of protection (about 100 women):•18-24 of age•60 pct. were aware that they were recruited into prostitution, 20 pct. were not•Most of the women want to find jobs outside the prostitution business, go back to school etc. Some see no alternative to prostitution

National Anti Trafficking Center has been established Responsible for coordinating the social efforts nationwide as

well as for ensuring that all actors involved collaborate operationally

relevant actors both locally and nationally Education and training of professionals

Danish National police strategy for a strengthened police effort against prostitution kingpins:

•Human trafficking as part of the Danish Police Academy’s basic education

•Continued training activities for police employees and employees of the prosecutorial authorities

•Extensive guidelines for the police force

•Expanded collaboration with other authorities and organizations

•Preparation of local strategies and action plans
