Dear friends,

and most of us are slowly getting used to our old

routines of school, work and politics after good summer holidays. Like

always September and October are very exciting when it comes to

European politics; elections are coming up in various European states and

the Irish will have a second referendum on the Lisbon treaty. The slow news

period is over and political junkies will not lack material to read and debate

on while activists have plenty of campaigning to do.

Meeting approved the audited

financial report of 2008, discussed

the European Elections outcome,

was informed about DEMYC

participation at a study trip to

Uganda, about the European Youth

Forum developments and it also

dealt with issues related to member

organizations. We also welcomed

FIDESZ from Hungary as the new

full member of DEMYC.

We also had the opportunity to

experience the Zadar hospitality, as

the mayor of Zadar offered a

reception to all the participants. After

a guided tour in the city we realised

ourselves; astonished by the

picturesque city with the Roman

Forum, the small alleys, the sea

organ and the monument dedicated

to the sun we had our afternoon

walk ending by the sea enjoying a

beautiful sunset.

The professionalism and hospitality

of MHDZ was unique and we all left

from Zadar with the best of

memories. Another constructive

DEMYC Summer School came to

an end offering us plenty of ideas to

think about and plenty of positive

energy to use for a good kickoff to

the difficult September ahead.

IYDUIYDUThe International Young Democrat Union is delighted that Germany's

Junge Union will be hosting this year's Council Meeting in Berlin between

Wednesday 25 and Sunday 29 November 2009. November marks the 20th

anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall, and this will be a key theme of the

event. Participants should expect to meet interesting and engaging high-

level speakers and be treated with great hospitality and friendliness. There

will also be visits to points of interest in Berlin.

Registration will open shortly and details of which will be published on

http://www.facebook.com/l/3d191;www.iydu.org/. Demand for places is

anticipated to be high, and as such there will be a limit on the number of

participants. There will be no charge for this event.

IYDU is a global alliance of 80 centre right political youth organisations

from 50 countries, united by a common desire for greater freedom and

less government, and a shared commitment to fight socialism.
