• “This” and “These” refer to things that are close or near to you, or “aqui.”
Ex: Esta camisa aquí es muy bonita. This shirt here is pretty.
• “That” and “Those” refer to things that are farther away from you, or “allí.”
Ex: Esos zapatos allí cuestan $50 dólares. Those shoes there cost $50.
