DEMONgoneCRAZYPakistan has been subjugated to the Western way of ruling, since her birth, in the name ofIslamic
Democracy. Regrettably, some Muslims feel proud to relate democracy with the ruling style of Hazrat Umar (R.A)
and other Caliphs of Islam. The origination ofDemocracy has to be cognized so as to comprehend it profoundly.
Democracy emanated from the creed of the vague compromise solution, in the midst of 18th
century,
brought about by the struggle between the kings and emperors of Europe and Russia and the philosophers and
thinkers. Since the kings and emperors were using religion as a means to exploit the peoples, oppress them andspill their blood under the claim that they are Gods representatives on earth by using the priests as a cover.
Eventually, a terrible conflict broke out between them and their peoples. During which the philosophers and
thinkers rose. Some of them rejected religion altogether and some of them recognised it, whilst others called for
its separation from life and consequently from the state (ruling). This conflict resulted in the idea of the
compromise solution, the idea of separating religion from life i.e. the separation of religion from state. It then
became imperative for the people to select their system of l ife themselves, and to establish the rulers who rule
them with these systems and laws. This is the way that the democratic system originated. As a result of the success of the revolutions against the emperors and kings and the demise of the idea of
the divine right, the two ideas ofsovereignty is for the people and the people are the source of authorities were
laid down for implementation and execution.
Democracy is the rule of the majority. Thus the members of the legislative body are chosen by the
majority votes of the people who have voted & the election of the rulers via their elected representatives. That is
why the majority is the prominent feature of the democratic system. The view of the majority is thus the truemeasure that expresses the view of the people (according to the democratic viewpoint).
The general freedoms are the foundations and Democracy obliges that they are provided for every
individual of the community in order to realize his sovereignty, exercise his will. Their general freedoms are
represented in four, which are Freedom of belief, speech, ownership & Personal freedom.
Democracy, in its true meaning, is an imaginary and inapplicable idea. In the ancient democratic
countries, like America and Britain, the heads of state and MPs represent the will of the capitalists from the
businessmen and big landowners, not that of the people or their majority. The big capitalists are the ones who
bring to power or into the representative assemblies. They are the ones who pay for the costs of the election
campaign for the post of head of state and the membership of parliament. As a result, they (capitalists) have
control over the head of state and the members of parliament. Wall Street's top investment bank Gold Sachs
was a generous contributor which donated $994,795 during 2007-2008 to Obama's presidential campaign and it is
self-explanatory that a company doesnt invest in vain. Moreover, it is obvious that if a person spending millions inhis election campaign of his own; his ultimate purpose will be acquiring at least double of it when he comes into
the power, rather than to legislate in the favor of people, since he has a complete authority to make laws as per his
will. This is the reason why we see number of sugar mills & huge property difference before and after his reign and
loads of unnecessary taxes as much as he desires. Therefore, the view that parliament in the democratic countries
represents the opinion of the majority and that they rule by what the majority of the people want, is a view that is
contrary to the truth, and it is but a deception.
The source from which democracy came is man. The sovereign in democracy which determines the
things as pretty or ugly is the mind and the origin of this is the philosophers and thinkers of Europe. It has to be
admitted that Human Mind is limited and is always under the influence of circumstances, time & era and thus
remains in a conflict. Therefore Human Mind is not capable to legislate for the whole mankind, if he does, then it
mustnt be flawless. Consequently we see many foolish man-made laws in the world which has only favored the
rulers or brought detriment to the peoples. For example, Article 248-b of 1973 Constitution provides immunity to
the ruler to be answerable to any court during his term of office, which puts an end to the obligation ofaccountability of a ruler and a rule of Kam Bachey Khushhaal Gharana has led to less labor and manpower in
Russia and Japan, which is being implemented in Pakistan too, etc. and the list goes on.
Allah (S.W.T) is the Creator & He is best aware about the Beneficial or Catastrophic or Halaal or
Haraam. As for Islam, sovereignty is for the Sharia and not for the Ummah. Thus Allah is the only Legislator; even
the most intellectual and pious person or the whole Ummah, does not possess the right to legislate even a single
rule. If all the Muslims met and agreed to permit usury so as to revive the economic situation or if they agreed to
allow special places for fornication so that it does not spread among the people. This agreement of the Ummah
would have no value, in the sight of Islam, even to the wing of mosquito. Thus it is not allowed for them to
legislate even a single rule. Therefore, Allah is the only Legislator. There are definite Verses and Ahadeeth which
clarify that sovereignty is for the Sharia, and that Allah is the legislator, that it is not allowed for man to legislate.

Have you seen those (hypocrites) who claim that they believe in that which has been sentdown to
you, and that which has been sent down before you, and they wish to go for judgment (in their
disputes) to the Taghut (false judges) while they have been ordered to reject them?
[TMQ: An-Nisa: 60]
Other verses areAn-Nisa:65,59, Al-Maida:47-50, Yousuf:67, Al-Ahzab:36 etc.
The general freedoms (as discussed above) in their four categories are not present in Islam. A Muslim is
bound in all his actions by the Sharia rules and he is not free in any action. One of the severest afflictions brought
to humanity is the idea of general freedoms initiated by the democratic system. This idea caused nothing but
disaster for mankind and societal decadence in democratic countries to a level lower than that of the animals.
Allah (S.W.T) says in the Glorious Quran:
Have you (O Muhammad) seen him who has taken as his ilah (god) his own desire? Would you then
be a disposer of his affairs over him? Or do you think that most of them hear or understand? They are
only like cattle; nay, they are even farther astray from the Path. [TMQ: Al-Furqan: 43]
Freedom of belief in the democratic system means that man has the right to believe in the creed he
wishes and he has the right to leave his creed and religion and move to another new creed and religion, or to no
religion at all. Islam forbids the Muslim from leaving the creed of Islam, the one who apostatizes from Islam is
asked to repent; if he returns he will remain in Islam and if he does not repent his wealth is confiscated and he is
separated from his wife, then he is killed.
Freedom of expression in the democratic system means that the individual has the right to carry any
opinion or thought, whatever this opinion or thought may be, whereas the Muslim is bound in all his sayings by the
Sharia. He is not allowed to make any statement unless the Sharia has allowed that. Islam obliges that the truth is
spoken at all times.
Freedom of ownership in the democratic system - which is the freedom that resulted in the capitalisteconomic system and consequently created the idea of colonizing people, plundering their wealth and looting their
resources, means that man is firstly permitted to possess wealth and then to increase it using any means
(encroachment of those countries who claim to be flag-bearers of democracy into the under-developed countries
is the best example). Islam contradicts this freedom as it fights the idea of colonizing people and plundering their
resources and seizing their wealth, just as it fights the idea of usury. Islam has defined the means of ownership of
wealth, the means of its growth and the manner in which it can be spent, and it prohibited all other means.
Personal freedom in the democratic system is the freedom, which has led Western societies to become
animalistic societies, which decided that it is the right of man to conduct his personal life in the form he pleases,
with absolute freedom without any limit, restriction & compulsion. Due to which we see disastrous outcomes in
the western society, it has lost the sense of affection between blood relations, single parent idea due to numerous
divorces, old homes for parents, limitless rape cases, and the list goes on. The rules of Islam completely contradict
with this personal freedom. The Muslim is restricted by the orders and prohibitions of Allah in all his actions. If he
were to commit any such prohibited actions he would be sinful.
Therefore Islam is not that flexible that we start relating it with this sinister way of ruling (democracy)
which was originated in 18th
Century. Hence using the word Islamic Democracy is as absurd as saying Islamic
Wine. Since we all accept that Islam is the complete code of life, it has its own way of ruling called Caliphate
which is indeed a perfect system for Humankind having complete guidance of social, economic, judicial,
educational and political system. This is the reason why Caliphate persisted for about 1300 years as a single super
power on the surface of earth.
Therefore, Democracy, can now be defined as a rule in which sovereignty belongs to the MAJORITY OF
THE JERKS sitting in the HOUSE OF PARLIAMENT whose ultimate objective is to rule as per their desire, and
afterwards, take care of the INHUMAN FREEDOMS of the peoples which strictly contradicts with the rules of Islam,
in the source from which it came, in the creedfrom which it emanated, in the basis on which it is established and
in the thoughts and systems it has brought.
