2007• Over 5 million killed during the
war, with 90% due to disease not combat.
• 11th largest country in the world.

• The current population of the Congo is estimated to be 75 million.
• Natural Change- 1.714 million• Crude Birth Rate-44.9 per thousand• Crude Death Rate- 17.2 per thousand• Total Fertility rate- 6.07 per thousand• Infant Mortality Rate- 116 per thousand
Education
• In the Congo 65% of the total population are literate.
• 75% of Males are educated.• 57% of females are educated.
Issues Faced by Government
A large percentage of the population has moved elsewhere.Much of its workforce is unable to work due to disease and injury.The government is largely corruptHas a high infant mortality rate, with over 1/10 dying in infancy.Many atrocities still being commit to control the countries mineral resources
