Introduction 

Are good leadership skills something you have to be born with or something you can

acquire? The answer is that good leaders are created through a continuous process of self-

study, education, training and experience. The best leaders are those who continually

develop their leadership abilities. A conscious and well thought-through leadershipphilosophy is therefore a key factor for successful entrepreneurship. A company which can

create a positive and supportive environment will have employees who accept changes

with a positive attitude. One essential requirement is that employees are able to trust the

company’s management. Trust requires effective communication on the part of leaders

within three critical areas: objectives/vision, business strategy and status

information/feedback.

The Boomerang Leadership Analysis is a 360° analysis which focuses on several important

leadership functions. Leaders are asked to evaluate themselves in various work-related

aspects. Similar evaluations are carried out by their superiors, colleagues and subordinates.

These evaluations are used to create a graph which shows the differences between howleaders see themselves and how others view them. The feedback gathered from this

analysis is used for development, planning and coaching.
