The Demiurg are a race of nomadic and somewhat reclusive beings observed primarily, if rarely, on the far eastern Fringes of the Galaxy. Whilst their ships are a common sight among the stellar atmospheres of deep core stars of the Galactic bulge, and frequent denizens of the most bizarre celestial phenomena, actual contact with the Demiurg is rare. From their majestic starships the Demiurg live out their solitary existence. Each vessel is known to be home to thousands of constructs and drones of the Demiurg, but the numbers of the race themselves onboard are scant. Whilst mention of and hearsay regarding the Demiurg is by no means unheard of, sight of a vessel or sign of their passing is less common. Indeed, the sight of a Demiurg itself is so uncommon that there are no largely reliable Imperial accounts of even their most basic aesthetic physiology, though it is known the Tau, Kroot and the likes have fared better in these areas than Imperial Humanity. It is projected an rumored that the actual occurrence of Demiurg is even rarer than the previously thought given the sheer size of their vessels, extensive automation is commonplace with some sources even claiming a common brotherhood size of only at most scant dozens of Demiurg. The Demiurg are ancient with regards to Humanity. Demiurg are Slow and Purposeful, may never run, and may not perform a Sweeping Advance. Mechanical Mastery The Demiurg are master builders and artificers, and utilize an assortment of drones to perform menial tasks, labor, and for self defense. Drones in service to a Demiurg utilizes the Ballistic Skill of the Demiurg. Shield Drones benefit from a 3+ Invulnerable Save instead. Wargear Demiurg Cutter Cutters are a general catch-all phrase to describe the various energy drills, pikes, bores and blades used by the Demiurg. Using a dissonant generator tuned to a specific disassociation frequency, Cutters can tear apart any matter. In melee the shatter hammer counts as a close combat weapon with the rending special rule. However it rolls an additional D6 for armor penetration instead of 1D3 when a six is rolled. Demiurg Survey Glass Under normal circumstances, the Demiurg survey glass is simply a visual penetrative tool used to detect minerals and direct cutting beams or automated mining ships for resource extraction. When a Demiurg survey team is threatened, this tool can be quickly weaponised by targeting a hostile entity and directing a low orbit cutting beam at their would-be assailants.
