Up to 1 hrs Drive from SydneySomething Borrowed is the name of our band. We will play amazing music for your wedding ceremony and reception. Don’t be confused by our flexibility, as Something Borrowed changes from playing beautiful wedding ceremony music into a party covers band for dancing. We can even DJ and MC at your wedding reception.

Our Platinum, Gold and Silver wedding music packages provide nonstop entertainment from the start of your wedding ceremony to the end of your wedding reception. Whatever your plans, we are brimming with ideas for weddings small and large.

We happily travel and play wedding music every weekend in Sydney, Hunter Valley, Southern Highlands and the Blue Mountains. You can choose your favourite wedding songs to be played live for the bridal entrance and for your first dance.

Weddings take a lot of planning and we sometimes get booked out up to 12 months in advance. The minute you have locked in a wedding venue and a wedding date – that’s the time to book us in as well.

Wedding Ceremony Music GuideSomething Borrowed will play your favourite songs live at your wedding ceremony. When you book us, you can choose almost any wedding song to highlight the key moments of your wedding ceremony.

Are you being married by a Civil Celebrant or by a Priest? Your wedding ceremony music “key moments” will change depending on how you choose to celebrate your wedding.

For a wedding with a Civil Celebrant you will usually choose 3 songs for the following key moments:• Bridal Party Entrance• Register Signing• Exit/Recessional

For a Church wedding with a Priest you will usually pick 5 songs for the following key moments:• Entrance of the Bride• Candle Lighting Ceremony• Communion• Register Signing• Exit/Recessional

The musicians at your wedding will play around 15 minutes of background music as guests arrive to the ceremony. We will play your chosen key songs during the ceremony and finish off any leftover booking time with more beautiful background music. For the bridal entrance, we will perfectly time the live music based on how slowly or quickly the bridal party enter.

On the Wedding Ceremony section of our web site you will find many video clips of us playing music plus a huge library of audio clips sorted into recommendations for your key wedding ceremony moments. These video and audio recordings will give you a great idea of what we look like and what we sound like – but more importantly they will help you choose your wedding ceremony songs and the live music you want to book for your ceremony.

Wedding Reception Music GuideSomething Borrowed is the name of our wedding band. We range in size from a 1 piece to a 10 piece covers band to suit weddings large and small. We happily travel and play wedding reception music every weekend in Sydney, Hunter Valley, Southern Highlands and The Blue Mountains. Weddings take a lot of planning and we typically get booked out up to 12 months in advance. The minute you have locked in a wedding venue and a wedding date – that’s the time to book us in as well.

Don’t be confused by our flexibility – as Something Borrowed changes from playing beautiful wedding ceremony music into a party covers band with sax, drums, guitars, bass, electric violin, keyboard, male and female vocals. We don’t use any backing tracks and the band plays every note live. We are all young, professional and degree qualified musicians with decades of music training – all this means is that you are in safe and very experienced hands.

When you book us we will play any song you choose live for your first dance… and will then get your guests up on the dance floor! We play soft background music for drinks, canapés and dinner – then upbeat party music for dancing. Typically we put our own special twist on pop, soul and softer jazz during pre-dinner drinks and dinner, acting as background mood music. Then once the cake is cut and the first dance begun, the band kicks off the dancing with party music starting with classic dance floor tunes for the oldies before moving onto the new stuff. This way the music appeals to the young… and the not so young.

Most couples need wedding reception music for 5 hours – but you can book us for longer if you need. We will play up to 4 x 45 minute sets of live wedding reception music over this time and our DJ takes over during the band breaks.
