Delta Precious Metals Recovery Cell
The plating cell was designed to reclaim precious metals from plated jewelry or electro-less plating solutions.
For reverse electroplating it is necessary to use a chemical solution. This chemical solution server to dissolve the
plated metal. Best known chemical for reverse electroplating is a mixture of three different acids with ratios 70-15-15
percent of each.
Take this ratio in this order together with acids sodium cyanide (NaCN), sodium hydroxide (NaOH) and sodium meta
nitro benzene sulphonate (C6H4NO5SNa). Add these chemicals into the recovery cell and agitate .
This method of dissolving metals requires a separate 6-12 Volt DC power source to provide the anodic cathodic
connections within the bath.
Connect the negative wire to a stainless steel cathode. Positive wire represents anode and it must be connected to
the plated items held within in a suitable container ensuring a good connection for the electric current flow.
The metals to be reclaimed will receive a positive charge and it will be dissolved by the electrolyte solution in the
bath then transferred to the stainless cathode for reclaiming.
Reverse electroplating process has a opposite way for attraction and the precious metals will move from plated
materials to the cathode which is made of stainless steel.
When this process comes to the end remove the cathode from the bath. Let the cathode dry and peel of the
reclaimed metal layer. Precious metals can be peeled off of the stainless steel with easy and collected aside. Whenyou collect enough you can melt them into one gold button or gold bullion and sell it or reuse it.
