The quality of the electrical contact between the vehicleharness and electronic component is vital to the perfor-mance of the system.

During every intervention it is imperative to ensure that the electrical connector, as well as the cable and any seals, are in perfect condition. If any part of the harness is faulty it should be replaced, damage may be caused through vibration, oxidation or incorrect contact.

Replacing any vehicle harness due to a faulty or damaged connector can be expensive, and these simple kits offer the workshop technician and car driver a cost effective and time saving solution, only taking 15-30 minutes to repair!

Delphi’s range of connectors covers over 90% of 2 to 5 pin engine harness connectors for many vehicle applications.

It is important to note that contact pin material variants must NOT be mixed on the vehicleapplication; and therefore, tin, silver and golden pin variants are available.

Diagnostic: Mini Break-Out Box - Cable Kits

Delphi develops solutions to support the diagnosticdemands of new vehicles today.

Fault fi nding on vehicles that are heavily dependent onelectronics for management of on-board systems, such as fuel, air conditioning, and braking, require quick and effective diagnostic solutions.

Interrogation of the individual electronic components isessential in order to correctly identify the root cause, diagnose and solve a component failure or fault.

Delphi’s extended range of break out cables aredesigned to directly analyse the increasing number of sensors, actuators and electronic circuits, going beyond fault codes to identify the root cause of the problem.

All electrical components require checks and electrical measurements at various stages of the diagnostic or repair processes. A wide range of specifi c kits are available for the connection of each connector type as harness and connector tests require great care and attention.

Each break out cable allows :

Line continuity and insulation testing

Measurement of :

Sensor and actuator resistance.

Voltage, with an oscilloscope or multimeter .

The current with an ammeter clamp.

Coil dynamic testing and connection of a Diagnostic tool.

Used in conjunction with one of Delphi’s Diagnostic Solutions or the stand alone DelphiPicoScope, these break out cables allow the testing of sensors whilst avoiding any damage to vehicle components.

To ensure the workshop maximizes the benefi ts of these cables, Delphi has included all-makes capability across a wide range of additional vehicle electronic systems such as braking and air conditioning. There is also a dedicated carry case available to provide a robust solution forstoring and protecting the cables when not in use. This case is specifi cally designed to hold up to 22 cables and comes with labels and documentation showing images of every cable and connec-tor to help the technician easily identify the cable required. Two cases are required for the stor-age of the complete Delphi range.
