To enter the security code:

. Turn radio po\\,'er switch on. Wait for radio ro display 1000 (SAFE>>>1000)o Depress preset #1 to increment left most digit to correspond to

the desired code (1000's place)c Depress preset #2 to increment the second left digit (100'S

place) to the desired code.. Depress Preset #3 to increments the ten's digit, to the desiredcode

o Depress preset #4 to increments the ones place. To the desiredcode

o once the desired code is displayed on the radios display,depress and hoid the tuning up or seek up button to enter thecode.

* If the correct code was entered the unit will switch to radiomode, or last active mode if not initial power up.

What If I entered the wrong code?

. If the security code is entered incorrectly the radio displaywill indicate 1 and 1000 agarn

' The user gets one more chance to correctly enter the securitycode. If the code is entered incorrectly the second time thedisplay will indicate 2 than "SAFE"

How manv tries do_I get to enter the pode corre_gtly?

. You get 2 tries, than yolr are locked out, i.e. the radio will notal1ow you to enter another code.

Can I restet the radio to accept more tries?

o Yes, you must turn the S-contact on, and the radio power on.for one hour continuous. After an hour you will eet 2 moretries.

* If the power is intemrpted during the t hour, the hour timerstarts over.

What if I forget mv securitv code?

o You must contact you VW dealer, who will get the radio serialnumber and have it ran through a vW code box. This boxuses a mathematical algorithm to determine the correctsecurity code from the receiver serial number.

Do I need to enter the securit code if the battedisconnected or run down?

o In general yes, however if the vehicle is equipped with theuplevel I.P. cluster , when the radio is initially powered up thecluster sends a code to the radio which the radio stores. Whena battery disconnect occurs the radio will compare the clustercode with the code it has stored, if the two codes match theradio will unlock without entering the 4 digit code.

How do I enter Test Mode?

o Switch radio to AM or FM mode (Test mode is only accessed inreceiver mode)

o Press and hold the "F/8" (fadelbalance) button greater than 10 secondsto enter test mode. Note. Note Fade will be activated initially whenthe F/B button is first depressed but wili than switch to test mode afterthe 10 seconds.

o The tirst information to be displayed will be the radio supplier, "RADDEz" which designates the radio as a Delphi radio.

. Press the CD mode button or Tape mode button to scroll through thevarious test mode options.

. I.e. Pressing CD button: * Pressing Tape butronFERh{ OFF/ON * Fern OFF/OI{o station frequency and signal analysis * Station analysis. Vers A99CZ23 * Software version
