Celebrating your achievements Congratulations on winning the Deloitte Best Managed Companies AwardThe Deloitte Best Managed Companies designation is a recognised symbol of excellence and a source of pride for winning businesses. Consistent and accurate use of the Deloitte Best Managed wordmark is a fundamental and essential part of gaining and maintaining wide spread recognition for the companies that have earned the Best Managed Companies designation. A key component of our programme is to build the profile of our winners locally and nationally.

We ask for your cooperation and support in our efforts to maintain and build the Best Managed Companies reputation by following the wordmark usage guidelines. They provide you with all the information you need to reproduce the wordmark accurately and to ensure you get the recognition you deserve.

Why we need wordmark standards?For any program, a strong visual identity is necessary in order to show a well organised. Focused and effectively targeted effort. It visually speaks to quality and strength, and avoids the challenges associated with divergent brand image. Consistent and correct use of the Deloitte Best Managed Companies wordmark in all communication materials works to enhance the presence and overall exposure of our programme and your accomplishment.

In order to ensure the continuance of a prestigious program and the significant of your achievement, it is necessary that we:• Establish a clear set of standards to manage

the programs high quality standards as a whole• Communicate our identity effectively and

consistently• Offer a flexible framework to deliver a global

brand.

Conditions of usePermission to use the Deloitte Best Managed Companies Awards Programme brand is granted to current year winners or Requalified members for a period beginning the day of the public announcement of winners and effective for 12 calendar months thereafter.

Example: The 2018 Deloitte Best Managed Companies Winners are announced March 2 2018. These winners and requalifiers are eligible to use the Deloitte Best Managed designation beginning March 2018 effective until March 2019.

Should a Deloitte Best Managed Company choose not to requalify or to re-apply to the program or should they be unsuccessful in maintaining the status they relinquish the right to use the Deloitte Best Managed Companies designation 12 calendar months following the initial public announcement.

The Deloitte Best Managed Companies wordmark is used by current New Winners, Requalified members, Gold and Platinum Standard members for advertising or marketing purposes for a period of one year. The wordmark and its options, as outlined in this document, were designed with flexibility in order to meet a variety of applications and accommodate your needs.

The wordmark has been developed to work across all sizes and formats. Please ensure the following principles apply when using the wordmark on your communication pieces:• always use the master wordmark artwork

and follow the instructions attached to the wordmark files

• do not attempt to re-create the wordmark• reproduce in full colour whenever possible. If

the application is black and white, please refer to ‘Reproduction options’

Clear space ruleTo protect the integrity and clarity of the Deloitte Best Managed Companies Awards Programme brand, a minimum clearance space is required when positioning the wordmark:• the minimum clear space around the wordmark

is equal to two times the cap height of the ‘Best Managed Companies’ wording (X=the height of the words “Best Managed Companies”)

• no other graphic element may appear within this area. Always allow for more clear space wherever possible

• do not combine the Deloitte Best Managed Companies wordmark with any other wordmark, text or graphic (Please refer to ‘Incorrect usage of the Deloitte Best Managed Companies wordmark’)

Maximum size• Follow the clear space rule when reproducing

the wordmark in large scale. Please use your discretion as to what sizing is appropriate. (See ’Use with your company’s wordmark’ for examples of building signage and wordmark positioning on vehicles and promotional items)

Print version In printed applications, the wordmark should never appear smaller than 30mm in width.

Reproduction optionsNon-standard backgroundThe wordmark can also be reproduced on non-standard background when the following conditions apply:• full colour version reproduction• a clear space white/black background must be

placed behind the chosen wordmark (See below)

Use with your company’s logoPlacementThe Deloitte Best Managed Companies wordmark should be in a place of prominence. Please follow the recommended placements of the wordmark, as follows:• for advertisements and business stationary -

place it in the bottom left of the page layout • for special occasions such as promotional

materials, building signage and company vehicles - follow the clear space rule and position the wordmark appropriately

• if your company’s brand standards cannot accommodate this, please refer to ’Non-standard background’

Incorrect usage of the Best Managed wordmarkIt is essential the appearance of the wordmark is consistent and easily recognisable in order to ensure prestige and integrity.
