Progress Report for the month of January - 2018
Classes LKG to II
2nd
JANUARY 2018: The school reopened after the winter break of 10 days.
3rd
JANUARY 2018: A team of doctors from VSTPP Hospital visited our school and did the
medical check up of students of classes I and II. The parents of those children who suffered
from any disease were informed by sending the Doctor‟s report to the concerned parents for
their further treatment.
4th
JANUARY 2018: Result of Evaluation III was e-mailed to all the parents of classes LKG-
II.
5th
JANUARY 2018: Show and Speak competition was conducted for classes LKG, Prep and
I. The competition was open to all. It was an open competition in which the children got an
opportunity to show and speak about their favourite toy. 200 children took part in the
competition and showcased their speaking skill.
Class II had Bhajan/Patriotic song competition. This was also an open competition in which
80 children took part and sang melodious hymns such as Raghupati Raghav Raja ram ….,
Itni Shakti .. etc.
The objective of both the competitions was to provide platform to large number of students
so that they could get rid of their stage inhibitions.
11th
JANUARY 2018: Workshop on “Laying the foundation of excellence” was conducted
by Mrs. Sandhya Awasthi, Director, DPSS, New Delhi from 3.00PM to 4.30 PM in the
main wing.
12th
JANUARY 2018: The much awaited visit of Mrs. Sandhya Awasthi, Director DPS
Society took place. She was delighted to be with the young Dipsites. Her last remark after the
visit was – “Take care of your happy & beautiful school.” Her words have made a great
impact on all of us in Primary wing and we shall continue to work with the same spirit as a
team to keep the DPS flag flying high always.
19th
JANUARY 2018: Colour day was celebrated in Primary wing with great pomp & show.
The children along with their class teachers decorated their classes with the colour they had
chosen for that day. The children even made sure of that they carried the tiffin that had that
particular colour delicacy. It was evident from the decoration and enthusiasm of the little
ones that COLOURS SPEAK ALL LANGUAGES. Our Principal Sir Dr. Janardan Pandey
was kind enough to visit Primary Wing and be a part of our celebrations.
20th
JANUARY 2018: The interaction of the little ones for admission to class LKG and Prep
took place in Primary Wing.
22nd
JANUARY 2018: Basant Panchami was celebrated in the Main Wing with religious
fervour. All the students and staff members venerated GoddessSaraswati with flowers and
chanted shlokas in praise of her. An atmosphere of serenity and peace was observed in the
school environment. The main Puja was performed by our Principal Sir and the Purohit was
our Sanskrit teacher Dr. Bharat Shastri.
25th
JANUARY 2018: Republic day was celebrated in Primary Wing with great enthusiasm.
It was a treat to see the Little Wonders of LKG and Prep who entered the stage to the beat of
“Nanha Munna Rahin Hoon” with perfect synchronized actions. Class I students presented
a remarkable dance on the song „Vande Matram‟. Class II children presented a skit on the
importance of education in our lives and danced energetically to the tune of „Mera Desh
Mera Mulk‟. With these colourful cultural programmes and speeches narrated by students
the school echoed with patriotic fervour and this gave a festive spirit to the occasion.
27th
JANUARY 2018: Grand farewell party was organised by students of Class XI and the
staff members for the outgoing Class XII.

The children enjoyed doing the activity of categorising things into Tall and Short.
HINDI
Children enjoyed forming new words by joining the Hindi alphabets.
MATHS
Children enjoyed pasting pictures in their book for developing their fine motor skills.
CLASS- PREP
ENGLISH
„Show and Tell‟ activity was conducted in which the children were asked to speak five
sentences on the given object using „It is‟.
MATHS
Children were given different size chocolates and were asked to arrange the same in
ascending and descending order.
EVS
Children enjoyed making a family tree in their scrapbook.
CLASS- I
ENGLISH
The children played and learnt Prepositions with the help of toys.
EVS
Children did an activity of Identifying and pasting the different means of transport under the
right heading.
HINDI
Children enjoyed making face masks of different animals.
MATHS
Learnt different types of shapes by making kites of different shapes.
CLASS- II
ENGLISH
The children enjoyed learning Prepositions by playing a game „Simon Says‟. In this game a
preposition was included in every command that Simon gave and the children had to follow
it.
EVS
The children enjoyed making model of different means of land transport like bicycle , car etc.
using toothpicks , bangles and empty match boxes.
CLASSES III TO V
5th
January, 2018: -A wonderful, meaningful and very heart touching assembly was
presented by class V-C on 5th
January, 2018 on the topic family and happiness. The
primary students of class V-C won the hearts of all with their wonderful, enthralling
and musical assembly.
6th
January, 2018: Inter House PPT Competition for classes III-V was conducted on

January, 2018. It was the first time when Power Point Presentation Competition
was conducted for classes III-V. The topic was Clean School, and Clean India. The
students presented the wonderful PPTs and the result of this competition as follows:

January, 2018: Inter House Speech Competition on the topic “Manners and
Etiquettes are essential for good human being” for classes III-V was conducted on

January, 2018. The students mesmerized all with their wonderful and powerful
speeches. The competition was enjoyed thoroughly by one all. The detailed result of

22nd
January, 2018: Saraswati Pooja was held in the school on the occasion of
Basant Panchmi. All the teachers and students were part of this auspicious occasion.
They offered their flowers and prayers to Goddess Saraswati- Goddess of Wisdom
and Knowledge.
26th
January, 2018: The school celebrated the Republic Day with great pomp and
show in the school. The Principal of the School hoisted the flag and it was followed
by National Anthem and wonderful and informative speeches by the students and
teachers.
The students of school were proudly took part in the Republic Day Celebration held in
the Ambedkar Stadium, NTPC Vindhyachal. They took part in the Republic Day
Parade, cultural programme. The Cultural programme was appreciated by one and all
present in the stadium.
DPS Vindhyanagar also prepared a fabulous and educative, alluring tableau which
was wonderfully displayed and exhibited by the students and teachers of the school.
DPS Vindhyangar received a huge appreciation for the same.
27th
January, 2018: Farewell of Class XII students was held in the school on 27th
January 2018. Class XI had made a wonderful arrangement. The children had lovely
attire. The class XI students stole hearts of one and all with their fabulous danseuse,
songs, anchoring, questionnaire, etc. They made the atmosphere quite emotional and
memorable for class XII. The farewell ended with the lunch in the honour of class
XII.
CLASSES VI TO VIII 2
nd January‟18- Special Assembly On New Year:
Students presented a fabulous assembly welcoming the fraternity of DPS(V).All
thoughts, hopes ,aspirations and resolutions appeared to occupy the minds of all
present and it was the exact start of a year ahead. Speeches, acts, year wishes and
pleasant surprises made the assembly extremely special.

th Jan‟18- VI TO VIII PICNIC TO LAKE PARK
Their joy knew no bounds. All excited and set for the day, the students left for Lake
Park, with their teachers. Indeed a light day, and the most awaited one, obviously full
of fun and frolic, eating, meeting and learning with Nature in the natural surrounding.
7th
Jan‟18-SWACHH VIDHYALAYA FELICITATION………AND SWACHH
VIDHYALAYA AWARD GOES TO DPS(V):
The audience applauded and we, a team of students and teachers proudly walked up to
receive the award from the Mayor of Singrauli Smt. Premvati Khairwar, Commisioner
Mr. Shivendra Singh and other officials. The ceremony was held at Satya
International. Among the schools in Singrauli District our school was judged the
cleanest by the team sent from Nagar Nigam and we hope to continue with our efforts.

Jan‟18-SPECIAL ASSEMBLY OF SOCIAL SCIENCE:
A subject as vast as can be assuredly had extremely wide information to share and
obviously interesting, factual and innovative too. A combination of geography,
history, civics and economics, so also were the combined acts, PPTs, speeches, quiz
etc. India‟s heritage unfolded and presented in a different manner. Students got the
opportunity to see and feel its newness.
11th&12th
Jan‟18-DPSS DIRECTOR VISITS DPSV:
The Fraternity of DPSV had the pleasure of welcoming the most distinguished guest,
Smt. Sandhya Awasthi, Director DPSS. Her benign presence doubled the essence of
the presentations made by the Dipsites. Obviously, her schedule began with the visit
to the classes, and the school. A very fruitful workshop was held by Madam where
she interacted with staff members and expressed her observations and expectations
from the staff.
12th
Jan‟18 was the day to begin with Surya Namaskar. A special assembly, well
organized in the presence of our most honourable guest Smt. Sandhya Awasthi was
held. It was a moment of great pride for us when she appreciated DPSV‟s teamwork.
The very day too, a workshop was scheduled to be held after school hours and a more
interesting one was it, with activites and team assignments. She spoke of many
innovative methods of teaching. The ambience she spread in the school still exists as
an official from DPSS had visited our school after a long time.
COMPETITIVE EXAMS
A number of competitive exams like SKGK,ISSO,ABHO,ITHO,IRAO,CRA from
CBSE, NSTSE and in each of them around 250 to 300 students participated
enthusiastically and have done their best. They have added feathers to the proud cap
of DPSV in the past , so we hope for better results this year.
20th
JAN‟18-OPEN CLASSWISE PROP DANCE:
Students showed superb response towards this dance show and made it a special day.
The combination of music, dance and prop filled the auditorium with excellent
rhythm and each of the participants obviously came up with something new and
innovative dancing steps.

JUNE‟18 –HINDI DEBATE COMPETITION (INTER-SCHOOL):
With much zeal and passion for debating over interesting topic, two of our most
talented students participated in the inter-school debate competition held at DPS,
Nigahi. They won accolades there and returned with a trophy and proved themselves
to be one of the best speakers there.

SMART TEAMWORK-
The staff and students join hands to provide the school a holistic atmosphere.
Plantation work on regular basis and Swachh Vidhyalaya team actively playing its

JAN‟18-REPUBLIC DAY CELEBRATION-
This national festival was celebrated with much pomp and show. A feeling of
patriotism swayed through as the National Flag fluttered and the tri-colour shown .A
wonderful field display presented by our school stole the show at the stadium. A
thoughtfully prepared „Jhanki‟ of the ten countries delegates meeting the Prime
Minister was extremely appreciated by one and all present there.
NATIONAL SANSKRIT GYAN PARIKSHA-
Malay Mayank of class VIIIB made to the headlines of the newspaper by winning
the first prize in the National Sanskrit Gyan Pariksha. Hence has made our school
proud. Last year too our school had won the first prize in the district.
CLASSES Ix TO VIII The Year 2018 started its journey of pride and accolade with few of the momentous
achievements in the month of January itself.
7th
January : SWACHH SAMMAN PURUSKAAR:
Municipal Corporation Singrauli in a Swachh Vidyalaya Contest declared DPS
Vindhyanagar the first rank holder amongst all the schools in keeping cleanliness in
its surroundings and gearing all the students to develop a natural inclination to
cleanliness. In its Swachh Sarvekshan process the school was awarded with 96 marks
out of 100. The school was felicitated with Certificate of Swachh Samman Puruskaar
in a specific assemblage headed by Smt. Premwati Khairwar, Mayor City Singrauli
and Shri. Shailendra Singh, Commissioner, Nagar Palika , Singrauli.

th- 12
th January: DPS SOCIETY DIRECTOR VISIT
The school was privileged to have visit of Mrs. Sandhya Awasthi, Director, DPS
Society. Her visit aimed to do academic audit of the school and promote better
teaching techniques through Teachers Training Workshop.
On 11th
during the workshop she interacted with the teachers sharing her valuable
experiences and listening their vocational joys. She imbibed pride of being a teacher
and invoked everyone to keep its dignity.
On 12th
January school celebrated Vivekananda Jayanti as National Youth Day . The
energy dissipated through Surya Namaskar adorn the morning with peace, spirituality
and discipline. Madam witnessed the program and felt proud about dipsites presenting
the program with flawless performance.
The workshop conducted by Madam focused on the multiple intelligence in students.
How to deal each child with special care , how to make class interactive and how to
make teaching learning process effective and interesting was imparted with effective
tips by Madam.

12th
January: REMARKABLE PERFORMANCE BY ARUB SIDDIQUI:
Arub Siddique, an eloquent debater stood winner at district level and division level as
well and qualified for the state level. In Bhopal also she stunned everybody with her
oratory skills. Arub has always been participating in school‟s debate contests and
proving her mettle.
20th
JANUARY: POT DECORATION COMPETITION:
Competition was organized Open Class wise, in which students participated at large
scale. Anushka Singh (class IX) stood first with marks as her creativity with
innovation brought a noticeable difference in her presentation.

21st JANUARY: CBSE HERITAGE QUIZ:
DPS Vindhyanagar‟s team comprising of three dipsites Vishnu Prasad(class XI),
Anees Puja Panda (class ix),and Ashish Puja Panda (class ix), bagged 2nd
position out
of 32 participating teams and made way for Regional Level to Jaipur. On 29th
of
January their participation in Jaipur was appreciated but due to three marks only they
could not make their headway to the final round.
22nd
JANUARY: BASANT PANCHAMI:
The festival was celebrated with rituals and enthusiastic festivity. Sarswati Pooja with
the shlokas chanting imbued the school premises with the most coveted blessings of
the Goddess. The students long in queue devotionally paid their floral offerings to the
Goddess.
26TH
JANUARY: REPUBLIC DAY
Celebration of Republic Day‟s 69th
anniversary was done doused with patriotism. The
tricolor flag was hoisted followed by National Anthem. In the Special Assembly, few
Dipsites spoke their heart out , referred to illustrious past and expressed their faith in
the Constitution and ensured future promises. Teachers also spoke their ethos very
maturedly. Finally Dr. Janardan Pandey ,the Principal feathered the moment with his
strong vision and perception. In Ambedkar stadium amongst the huge display,
school‟s march past , tableaux exhibiting importance of cleanliness and how to take
the campaign to the farthest and remotest parts of the country , stood as Modi‟s
perception holding practical shape. Field display and pyramid struck the spectators
with its symmetrical presentation. The school received lots of appreciation and stood
high with its outstanding performance.
27TH
JANUARY: FAREWELL:
Class twelfth session 2017-18 was bid farewell wherein class eleventh under the co-
ordinatorship of Mr. S. Patnaik and Mrs. Shilpi Upadhyay did best of efforts to serve
best to the Seniors be it cultural or awarding them with titles or the sumptuous lunch.

DPS and Miss. DPS. The Head of the institution wished them good luck for their
brighter tomorrow.
The month signed off bagging a couple of the prestigious moments in its reserve.
