DELHI PUBLIC SCHOOL, VINDHYANAGAR PROGRESS REPORT FOR THE MONTH OF JANUARY2019 9 th JANUARY2019 : The school reopened after the winter break of 10days. 15 th JANUARY2019 :344 students were successfully vaccinated for Measles and Rubella by the District Administration. 18 th JANUARY2019 : Show and Speak competition was held for classes LKG and PREP in which 60 children participated and exhibited best of their oratory skills. The competition was open to all and the children were very excited to show and speak about their favourite toy. All the children spoke well but Aryahi from LKG and Advaita from class Prep A were outstanding. Classes I, II children had advertisement enactment competition .This was also an open competition in which 50 children took part and showcased their talent. All the children were very entertaining but Achhyut from class IA and Kumud from class IIB were absolutely wonderful.

PROGRESS REPORT FOR THE MONTH OF JANUARY– 2019

9th

JANUARY2019: The school reopened after the winter break of 10days.

15th

JANUARY2019:344 students were successfully vaccinated for Measles and Rubella by

JANUARY2019: Show and Speak competition was held for classes LKG and PREP in

JANUARY2019: Special Assembly was conducted to celebrate and enlighten the

importance of Republic day to the children.

27th

JANUARY 2019: Admission test for classes LKG and Prep were held in Primary Wing.

About 150 children appeared for an informal interaction.

31st JANUARY 2019:To help younger children identify and differentiate various colours,

“Colour Day” was celebrated in Primary Wing with great pomp and show. The children

along with their teachers came dressed in the colour chosen for their class. This day was a fun

filled day for the kids as they did many enjoyable activities.

A temporary market place was set up to give experience of shopping to the children. The aim

was to teach them the concept of money.

EVS

In this electronic era the children are unaware of concept of letter writing. So through an

activity of envelope making, the children wrote letters and gave it to their best friend in the

self made envelope.

CLASS-II

ENGLISH

The children enjoyed doing the activity of Preposition- “Simon says” of directional words.

The children learnt the concept of addition and subtraction using different shapes for Tens

and Ones.

The children enjoyed making an Aeroplane (Air transport) and a boat (Water transport)

through origami.

CLASSES iii TO V 12

th January, 2019: National Youth Day was celebrated in the school with great pomp and

show. On this day, in the honour of Swami Vivekanand a special assembly was organised by

class V-B. The students presented skit, dance, speeches, PPT about the life, teachings and

principles of Swami Vivekanand. It was wonderful and mesmerizing assembly. It was praised

by one and all present in the auditorium.

January, 2019: On 13th

January, 2019, the students of classes III-XII took part in Inter

School Science Model Exhibition organised by NTPC Vindhyachal on the occasion of Sharad

Mela. Harshit Singh and Fahad IQbal of class V won a lot of appreciation for their working

model. Their model was also adjudged as the best model in Junior category. In the evening

the students presented a beautiful dance and cultural programme which was appreciated by

the people a lot. It was a fabulous presentation by our school students which left the indelible

impression the minds of all the people who came to witness this fair.

15th

January, 2019: District Magistrate Shri. Anurag Choudhary, Shri A.K.Tewary, E.D.

NTPC Vindhyachal & Pro-Vice Chairman, DPS Vindhyanagar and Commissioner Nagar

Nigam, Singrauli and many other distinguished guests join their hands and took initiative to

curb the deadly disease Measles and Rubella. In their guidance and with their kind initiative

approx 1529 students of DPS Vindhyanagar were vaccinated and given vaccine of Measles

and Rubella.

January, 2018: The group photography of classes III-V were held in the school. The

students of classes III-V were very happy. It was pleasing moment to see the smiling faces of

the students.

The result for the first phase of IIO, IOS and IOM for the session 2018-19 held by the Silver

Zone Organisation was declared. The list of students who had qualified for the 2nd

th Jan’19-SCHOOL RE-OPENS AFTER WINTER VACATION:

The long hours of sleep in the mornings came to an end and the school re-opened for its

session for the finals. Once again with new hopes and aspirations the entire school was back

to the pavilion and studies began.

Jan’19-COMMON REVISION ASSESSMENT TEST CONDUCTED:

CRA was conducted for Classes V and VIII and the students wrote the paper with anxiety and

interest. It was both for English and Maths and students got an opportunity to evaluate

themselves and improve in these subjects.

12 th Jan’19-INTER HOUSE QUIZ COMPETITION:

Selected Quiz kids of all houses let themselves out to acquire knowledge of any matter they

came across like culture of different states, science and technology. Current affairs etc. They

were quizzed with interesting question some easy, some hard, some funny, some serious and

some were very close to the answers and some guessed and got through. It was entirely a

session full of knowledge and brain-drain.

Jan’19-VACCINATION FOR MEASLES AND RUBELLA:

The district administration took up this initiative of vaccination to protect the students from

measles and rubella. The school had sent forehand notice to parents and took utmost care

during the entire process. Around 1500 students got vaccinated.

12th Jan’19 –STUDENTS PARTICIPATION IN SHARAD MELA:

DPS(V) received invitation from SUHASINI SANGH (V) for students participation in the

exhibition held at SHARAD MELA. Enthusiasts of our school participated with very unique

exhibits and were much appreciated by officials, jury members, other schools, spectators etc.

adding to the pride of the school.

COMPETITIVE EXAMS WONDER KIDS:

DPS(V) takes pride in the number of students who have qualified for the IIND PHASE in

SILVER ZONE COMPETITIVE EXAMS .Their hard work, Principal Sir’s blessings and

teachers efforts have led to this appreciable results and we hope for the best for their next

round too, to be held in the month of February.

19th Jan’19- INTER-HOUSE CULTURAL HERITAGE PRESENTATION

COMPETITION:

An eye-catchy show was put up by 12-15 students of every house depicting the culture,

cuisine dress, dance, festivals, personalities etc. of some important states of India. It proved a

tough job for the jury to select the best as all the houses came up with extraordinary

preparation and presentation with interesting PPTS too. Assuredly, Indian culture is very rich.

Jan’19-QUALITY ASSURANCE PROGRAMME EXAM HELD:

DPSS held QAP for students of classes VI and VIII FOR subjects like English and Maths.

Students put in a lot of effort to answer their best and it provided them an opportunity to

know where they stand exactly.

Jan ’19-REPUBLIC DAY PARADE AND FIELD DISPLAY:

The 70th

Republic Day celebration at school as well as in the Ambedkar Stadium proved to be

a splendid one .Speeches, songs and quotes evoked a sense of patriotism once again .A

spectacular display of colours and culture was put up which received a lot of appreciation and

applause. Around 220 students participated and danced to the tune of evergreen patriotic

songs presenting the varied cultures of India.

30 th Jan’19- INTERNATIONAL HANDWRITING COMPETITION:

Handwriting experts of DPS (V) participated in the competition held and gave their best.

Every year students have performed well and have brought laurels to our school, so the

expectation is higher this year.

31 st Jan’19- INTER-HOUSE PROP DANCE SHOW:

Last activity for the session 18-19 was the Inter- House Prop Dance. It was really a feast for

the eyes as the selected students gave stupendous performances. Prop like umbrellas, caps,

colours, dupatta, hangings etc. were used very meticulously and was fun to watch. All danced

to the tune of famous Hindi numbers. It was appreciated by one and all.

Pre board 1 examination of classes 10 and 12 were commenced to drill the students for Board

12.01.2019 Vivekanand Jayanti:

The Jayanti was celebrated as National Youth Day very enthusiastically. His dedication to the

country and infinite energy to restore its glory was well spoken from the Dias.

19.1.19 Best out of Waste Competition:

Open Class wise competition was organized to induct innovative approach into the young

minds.

25.1.19 PTM:

Parent Teachers Meeting was held to discuss the academic performance of classes 10 and 12.

This exercise brought out better strategies for the students to prepare for boards.

26.1.2019 Republic Day:

The celebration was done with a great fervour.

The battalion of march past students took each move excellently and demonstrated best of

their teamwork.

29.01.2019 Farewell

Class 12 session 2018-19 was bid farewell. Class 11 presented wonderful program and

through their speeches made the environment emotionally charged.
