of the activity:

Aim – Unification of different cultures around the world through cartoons. Content – Art & Craft, Power-point presentation on Cartoon world, Dramatization and Fancy Dress. Outcomes – Learnt to research, appreciate and value the diversity in different cartoons. They understood the commonality and diverse characteristics of the world famous cartoonists and their works.

Countries explored: India, Japan, UK, USA, Germany and France.

April 2014 was a momentous month for our school and especially for me. I learnt that Delhi Public School, Maruti Kunj will be competing for the important International School Award (ISA) organized by the British

Council. I was pleasantly surprised and pleased when I was told that I would be one of the 10 Activity Incharges for this assignment. I was very eager to share my ideas with the school coordinators. After a discussion with the Heads of the school, I was given charge of ‘Toon Mania Around The

World’.

My job involved integrating activities pertaining to Toon Mania around the World in the school’s activity schedule and opening communication links with schools from abroad. We received few responses from schools who were interested in partnering with us for this fun-filled project. The

students of classes II to V, teaching staff, administrative staff and parents were all charged up raring to go. We effectively completed all the activities within the specified time. A few hurdles came our way but we overpowered them with an optimistic approach. The students were bursting with buoyancy on completion of the project.

‘Toon Mania’ has enhanced our students’ skills in research work and dramatics. The ISA project has helped the students to develop confidence

in one’s own ability and feel secure that their learning will surpass all boundaries and restrictions. It is righteously said that to accomplish great things we must not only

act, but also dream; not only plan, but also believe.
