A small quantity of food taken than required is known as under nutrition. Malnutrition is a physical state of a person resulting either from an imbalanced diet or from physical inability to absorb nutrients properly due to some disease. When a person eats too much fat containing food, then the fat gets deposited in his body and he may end up suffering from a condition called obesity. Sources and deficiency disease of vitamins and minerals: 1. Vitamin – A Sources – milk, butter, red and yellow fruits and vegetables, egg and meat. Deficiency disease – Night blindness 2. Vitamin – B Sources - milk, egg, green vegetables, cheese, meat and germinating seeds.

Food and its components:

Diseases caused due to deficiency of particular nutrients or minerals in

our diet for a long period of time are called deficiency diseases.

• Sources – milk and milk products, green leafy vegetables and nuts.

• Deficiency diseases – Bone and tooth decay

2. Iodine

• Sources – fish, seaweed, shrimps and other sea – food and dairy

products.

• Deficiency diseases – Goitre

3. Iron

• Sources – dark green leafy vegetables, fruits, nuts, egg, meat and

liver.

• Deficiency diseases – Anaemia.

MS-WORD

MS-WORD is a word processing software developed by Microsoft.

INSERTING CLIPART AND PICTURES

Images are a great way to liven up a document, and MS-WORD offers a few methods

to insert them. There are built-in clip art images for just about every topic, so you

may be able to find a perfect clip art image for your document. If you have a more

specific image in mind, you can insert a picture from a file.

TO LOCATE CLIP ART

1. Select the Insert tab.

2. Click the Clip Art command in the Illustrations group.

3. The clip art options appear in the task pane to the right of the document.

4. Enter keywords in the Search for: field that are related to the image you want to

insert.

5. Place your insertion point in the document where you want to insert the clip art.

6. Click an image in the Clip Art pane. It will appear in the document.

INSERTING PICTURES FROM FILES

You can also insert a photograph or other images from your files using this same

process.

1. Place your insertion point where you want the image to appear.

2. Select the Insert tab.

3. Click the Picture command in the Illustrations group. The Insert Picture dialog box

appears.

4. Select the desired image file, then click Insert to add it to your document.

INSERTING WORD ART

In addition to adding effects to a text box, you can add effects to the text inside the

text box, which is known as WordArt. You can Transform the text to give it a wavy,

slanted, or inflated look.

For text to be formatted as WordArt:

1. Select the text you want to convert.

2. Click the Insert tab.

3. Click the WordArt command. The Quick Styles drop-down menu will appear.

4. Select the desired quick style.

5. Word will automatically create a text box for your text and apply the style to the

next.
