DELF & DALF EXAMS 2019 What are DELF and DALF? The DELF (Diplôme d'Études en Langue Française) and the DALF (Diplôme Approfondi de Langue Francaise) are official French certifications (diplomas actually) that certify the competency of non-native French speakers in the French language. These foreign language certifications have been approved by French law (décret of the French Republic 22th of May 1985 for the DELF and December 1988 for the DALF) and awarded by the French Ministry of Education. The DELF B2 is an advanced level of French, which allows you to enrol in a French University without having to take any other language test. B2 is the level of fluency. The diplomas; the DELF & DALF are in line with the levels of reference of the CECR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) as well as with the recommendations for language assessing by the Framework. There are 6 levels of competency: A1, A2, B1, B2, C1 and C2 The DELF JUNIOR is for secondary school students (12-17 year old) and offers 4 levels: A1, A2, B1 and B2. The DELF PRIM is for children aged between 7 and 11 years of age who are in primary school and offers 3 levels: A1.1, A1 and A2 For each level or diploma, the 4 core language skills: listening, speaking, reading, and writing are assessed. What are DELF and DALF?
