One

of

the main

things

we came

to

do was to

work

with th e A r c a d i a C h u r c h o f Ch ri st . D u e to

some

problems

within

the

church we

have

not

been able to work

there. We

do ,

however, spend

weekday

afternoons

at

the

children s

home

tutoring the

children,

helping

with

homework

and playing with them. There are twenty

children In the

home

with ages ranging from

five to

seventeen.

It has been a

joy

to ge t to

know

them and give

of

ourselveswhere we see

a

great

need.

Our

senior YP (young people ) is a very

exciting

group

of kids to work

with.

Around

sixty

meet

every Friday evening. We begin with

songs , mos t

of

which

are

Scripture

songs

that

we

have taught.

In our

lessons

we

range

In

topics

from

prayer

and couple relations to the

discussion

of their

questions.

them just

G I R L S

HIGH S C H O O L

The

Religious Education classes at th e

Hatfield Girls High School

have

been

exciting

and

rewarding. For

the

most par t

the

girls are

fun

to

work

with.

Two

of my girls, Tamara and

Nancy, come to

the

Church

now.

Tamara was

already a

Christian

but not at tending Church.

Her

whole

family,

with

the

exception

of

her dad,

n o w

a t t e n d H e r

m o t h e r a n d e l d e r s i s t e r

h a v e

recently become Christ ians and

been

baptized.

Nancy was baptized

at

our youth meeting and

her s is te r the

next Sunday. It is

exciting

to be

i n v o l v e d

with

t h e m

I

have also

begun

two

keep

fit

(aerobics/exercise) classes

in

the

afternoons

using Chris tian

music.

I

am

praying

this

will be

a c h a n c e t o i n f l u e n c e t h o s e n o t in t h e c l a s s e s 1

have

around

one

hundred

girls

and

one has

already

begun att ending

youth meeting.

The

Lord

has

blessed

us

In

letting

us

see

results

a lready and we pra ise Him for

that.

the girls that

they

will

s ee t he Lord Jesus and d es ir e to have

that very

special

relationship

with Him.

JUNIOR

YOUTH

WORK

by Robin

Most of

the

work that I do is with the junior or

elementary

age

children.

At the present

time

I

am teach ing two youth groups at two

of

th e

chur ch e s h er e

in Harare. I

teach

the

lessons,

Bible verses and do

crafts occasionally. Last

term

one of

the

groups

got so

big

had

to split up the

children and

teach

them

in

sh ifts . Wha t

to

have

Scripture

classes in

the public schools.

I teach

grades four through

seven

in two

elementary

schools.

These classes p re sent an exciting

opportunity,

as many

of the children

are

from

home s

where

there is

no Christ ian

influence.

Proverbs 22:6 says,

Train

up

a child in th e

way he

should

go and

when he

is old,

he

will

not

depart

from

it. It iswonderful

and encouraging

to know that we

are

training

the

future leaders,

not

only of

the Church

bu t

also the

future

leaders

of

Z imb ab we
