Step One

• Obtain a super-sweet Holga 35mm film camera, find a cool location (NYC taxi cab), and start shooting.

Step Two

• Take some pictures! Snap a couple off, develop them and bring them to a scanner.

Step Three

• Open that sucker up in photoshop.

Step Four• Pretty sweet, now we’re working with

analogue.• But there’s still some things left to do.• Start by cropping out the sprockets and other

pictures, then invert and adjust the color.

Step Four (cont.)• Do a little bit of color touch-ups…• And BAM

BAM• That’s what I’m talking about.

Step Five• Let’s have some more fun, bring that into

photoshop, convert to grayscale, and fool around a bit.

Step Six

• If you didn’t in the step before, save the picture as a .tif from photoshop.

• Then open it up with the textedit application.

• It’s time to do some data-bending.

Step Seven• Once opened in textedit, start screwing

around, deleting text here, copy and pasting text there. There’s not a whole lot of rhyme or reason to the process.

• Save the “image” and reopen in photoshop, ignoring the error messages.

Step Eight• Print that sucker out, make a few copies,

because we’ll need a few for the next step.

Step Nine

• Use some paint to declare your love for Holga.

Step TenStart chopping away with some scissors, again, let’s get something that boldly declares our love for analog.

Step ElevenNow grab your journal, date the entry, and simultaneously embed in history the pictureand your love for Holgas.
