Narrative Text Structure Chant

Every story has a setting and a character. The setting is the time and place. The character drives the action of the story. In the introduction, the author needs to make them come alive or we will close the book!

Once they come alive, then the character has a conflict and sets a goal to solve the problem. After setting a goal, the character goes through different events and episodes to solve the problem; that’s called the plot.

To make the plot more interesting, the character has complications like a twist, crisis, tragedy, or obstacles. The turning point in the story or the most suspenseful part is the climax.

Resolution! Was the character successful or unsuccessful at solving the problem? Theme! What was the message about humankind did the author reveal in the story?
