Creating a Web Page Document
• A newly defined site doesn’t contain any web page documents
• To add a web page document to a website, a document is created and then saved in the folder
• When a web page is saved, it must be given a name
• File names for web pages can be in lowercase letters, numbers, and underscores_
• Do not use spaces and it best not to start with a number
• A file name should be descriptive of the page contents
Creating a Web Page Document
Saving a Web Page Document
• Select FILE | SAVE
• The Save As dialog box is displayed
Home Page File Name
• The home page is the main page or starting point of the website
• index.html is usually the best choice for the home page file name because web servers automatically recognize it as the home page
• You can also add web page documents using the Files Panel menu (we will try this in a minute!)
• When the site is defined, a folder is created (on the right in the files panel) with the specified name
