UNLIMITED CRAFTERS Women of the Moose, I need your help. We plan to have a bazaar in conjunction with the Octoberfest,

all proceeds from our Sunday crafting projects will benefit Mooseheart/Moosehaven. We will be selling

handmade items such as greeting cards, jewelry and knitted and/or crocheted items. The turn out for crafting

has not been well attended. Therefore, we have a few ladies that have purchased table space to sell

handmade items they’ve created. If you are a home crafter and have handmade items you would like to sell at

Oktoberfest, please contact Sandi about a booth (1-4 PM, October 21st).

Any Crafter who would like to sell their own handmade products is welcome to purchase a space for

$20—all proceeds from your own projects will be yours (The $20 will be donated to Mooseheart/Moosehaven), Please note, the table space is for

handmade items only, jewelry, knitting, quilting and more.

Please contact Sandi at 760-402-9109 for complete information.

Due to the lack of participation at Sunday afternoon crafting, we will be closing down Sunday crafting until after the first of the year. If you’re

interested in crafting let us know and we’ll try again to see if there is more participation,

Governor’s Corner

September, what a busy month and a true eye opener.

CNMA (California Nevada Moose Association) was a firsthand

look at the big picture in our Moose Fraternity, Mooseheart,

Moosehaven & Community Service. If you haven’t gone, you

should. It was an honor to represent our Lodge in Reno and lots of

fun.

Back in town, Friday, the 15th, was the CA/NV Extreme

South’s Moose Rider’s meeting in Mira Mesa. Saturday found us

representing our lodge at the Fellowship Celebration & Dinner for

Ron Woods at the Lemon Grove Moose Lodge. Are you asking what a Fellow is?

“A fellow is someone who has been a leader and is now often an all-important mentor to

new members helping to guide them along a fraternal leadership path towards enhancing

our existing programs. They continue to serve in various ways to keep their fraternal

units strong, often through positive efforts in membership recruitment and retention”.

We will be celebrating with two new Fellows in the next month – John Crewdson,

formally from the El Cajon Lodge and Mike Vincent from the Mira Mesa Lodge. Our

heartfelt congratulations go out to these well deserving individuals!!

The night wasn’t over, now back to the Mira Mesa Lodge to attend the Extreme

South Moose Rider’s Casino Night. They were raising funds to donate to the San Diego

Honor Flight who raises money to send WWII vets & a caregiver at no cost to them to visit

memorials dedicated to THEIR service and sacrifice in Washington D.C.

Sunday, after a wonderful breakfast by our own Lenard & crew, District meeting at

the Kearny Mesa Lodge. We had a good turnout from our lodge. In case you didn’t know,

all members are welcome to attend the District Meeting held monthly at different lodges in

our district. They start at 11 a.m. and are a good source of information as to what is going

on at the other lodges. Wednesday, the 20th, at the Oceanside Lodge for the Moose Legion

ceremony. Only lodge I haven’t been to this week, is El Centro. Plan to go in November

with the Moose Riders. All members are welcome to join us! See me for details.

All these events are open to ALL our members. A great opportunity to make new

friends and have fun too. Check the calendar for the location of the monthly District

Meeting and announcements in the monthly newsletter or on Facebook for events at other

lodges.

Again, I would like to thank everyone at our lodge for your attendance at our events

& meals, and to our volunteers who work in making the lodge the “cool” place to go!

Fraternally,

Lee White

Are you a new member? Hopefully, you’ve enjoyed one of our many fun events in

the park, or dinner and dancing, Sunday morning breakfast, or Line Dancing with

Duffy, or perhaps 3 Chord guitar lessons. Those are a few of the benefits of being a

Moose Member, but do you really know what your membership dues pays for?

The kids we support at Mooseheart, the seniors at Moosehaven, the many

Community service activities we participate in are just an example. Want to learn

more? Attend a quick Member Orientation and after join us for a Free breakfast.

New members only, October 22nd @ 9 AM. Look for a personal invitation

coming your way. Hope to see you there!

PAST REGENT’S chapter chatter

October 3, 2017

Greetings Everyone,

I would like to confess the reason the newsletter will be going out late this month, is totally on me. I turned in my article late. I am truly sorry. I would like go ask people to give blood in light of the Las Vegas shooting, my heart goes out to those folks and their families and close friends.

I know some of you, may wonder why do we always start our articles with Thank You’ s, and the answer should be obvious, we appreciate our volunteers and the folks who come out to support our lodge. Therefore, I will get started, with thanking everyone who attended the Labor and to Terri Hache, and her cooking/serving team. Wild Nite was our last band in the park. Dinners and Bands have returned to Friday nights. We

had a great turn out for Steak Night and Ghost Riders, it looked like the Friday nights we where used to see. We hope to see many more Fridays with this kind of turn out. Bar News: I would like to announce we have a new bartender, Tina Conley, please welcome her with open arms and a little patience, while she is getting used to the customers and bartending. She will be working mainly on Wednesday’s and some weekends. Welcome Tina, and thank you. Social Quarters etiquette: While, individually, you are a very important person to us, so is every other LOOM and WOTM member. This

Lodge belongs to ALL our members, whether they come every day, once a month or once a year, be kind to one another, and respect each other for their individuality. Our job as Bartenders is to ensure that everyone does get to enjoy their time at our Moose Home. My apologies go out to Leslie, for not making her feel welcome. We all need to make a better effort at making eve-ry person who walks through our doors welcomed. Me included! Please make sure your membership is up-to-date, this is a fraternal organization, so we will be asking to see your membership card. We cannot serve you if you are an expired member. Please let me know if you have any concerns or issues with any Social quarters, or our Bartenders. I would like to ask that you keep Keith, Nora, Charly and their family in your thoughts and most importantly in your prayers, during this difficult time. Ours hearts and prayers go out to Pat Dunn, Family and close friends, at the passing of Duke Dunn. He will be missed greatly. In Friendship always, Cindy Mintz Pro-Tem Sr. Regent & Bar Manager

“Sometimes we want someone to simply be there. Not to Fix anything,

or to do anything in particular, but just to let us feel that we are cared

for and supported.”
