T he history of the Church is replete with Eucharist Miracles. In the year 595,during the life of Pope Gregory, it wasthe custom of the faithful to preparethe bread used for the Eucharist. OneSunday, while Pope St. Gregory wascelebrating Holy Mass in the ancientchurch of St. Peter, a woman in line toreceive the Eucharist was laughing outloud. The Pope was greatly disturbedand asked her,  “Why?” The womandefended herself that she could notcome to believe that it was possible forbread made by her own hands to becomethe Body and Blood of Jesus Christ, thanks to the words of consecration. At that point, he prohibited her fromreceiving Holy Communion and heimplored God to enlighten her. Whenshe saw the very portion of breadprepared by her turn into Flesh and

Blood, the woman fell to her kneesand repented. Today, part of the Relicis preserved at Andechs in Germany. Inthe city of Rimini, Italy, it is still possibleto visit the church built in honor of aEucharistic Miracle worked by Saint  Anthony of Padua. In 1227, Anthony was conversing with a heretic who was

against the Sacrament of the Eucharist. He challenged the Saint to prove to himthat the Body and Blood of Christ weretruly present in Holy Communion. Anthony suggested that he change thechallenge. He offered to withhold foodfrom an animal for three days so thatit would feel the torment of hunger. Hepublicly led the animal out and offered

it a hearty bowl of food while placingthe monstrance containing the Bodyand Blood of Christ before it. He askedthe heretic, “If the animal passes upthe food and adores His God, willyou then embrace the Church? Theanimal passed up the food and fell toits knees bowing to the Eucharist. InLanciano, Italy, some 700 years ago

during Holy Mass at the moment of Consecration, the bread turned into visible human flesh and the wine intohuman blood. The miracle is validatedand continues to this day.

A ll of these are beautiful testimonialsto the most basic and exalted truth of the Catholic Church regarding the realpresence of Jesus Christ in the Eucharist.

T he Church has suffered enormouslyover the past 50 years. The most seriousproblem facing the Church today, themost important issue which must beaddressed more than the scandals thatabound, is the loss of belief in the realpresence of Christ in the Holy Eucharist.  What is amazing is the number of people who do not believe what theChurch has always taught about thetrue presence of Christ in the Eucharist.

This is a very serious problem whichhas to be corrected. The Eucharist is theSource and Summit of the Christian life!In the Blessed Eucharist is containedthe whole spiritual good of the Church -Christ Himself. All the Sacraments, liturgy and devotions, the very life of the Church flow from the Eucharist.Statistics in the USA and Europe in 1994

showed that 2 out of 3 Catholics underthe age of 45 believe the Eucharist isonly a symbolic reminder of Christ. One half of those who attend Mass onSunday describe the Eucharist assymbolic. This represents 15 millionCatholics. A poll taken one year agoindicates that 77% believe one can be agood Catholic without attending Mass

on Sunday and 70% of those betweenthe ages of 18-45 believe the Eucharist tobe symbolic. This should be no surprise to us. We have had 50 years of catechesis without content, a theology without theCross and a spirituality without OurLady! It is diabolical! What is Satan’s plan? Attack the Truth by discreditingthe Church as a teaching authority,

attack the Eucharist - our source of life and unity, and degrade Mary wholeads us to Christ and ultimatelycrushes the head of the Serpent.

WHAT, THEN, IS OUR PLAN?Proclaim and defend the Truth byuncompromising obedience to theChurch, increase devotion to the

Eucharist and make and live our TotalConsecration to the ImmaculateHeart of Mary. These are the threePillars of our apostolic program:

THE CHURCH!

THE EUCHARIST!

Total Consecration to the

IMMACULATE HEART OF MARY!

If these three are implemented, we willhave holy vocations. We need adorationof the Blessed Eucharist and we mustbe prepared to defend It against theerrors which abound. Jesus is not justin the host or with the host; He is theHost Itself! Each and every particle of the host and every drop of preciousBlood contain the whole Christ. HolyCommunion preserves us from mortalsin and remits venial sin. It is a remedythrough which we are delivered fromour daily faults. It is the most powerfulremedy against temptation.

T he E ucharist is the B ondof C harity that unites allC hristians as members ofO ne S piritual B ody.

If we heard a newsflash that JesusChrist was coming to earth and wouldbe in our city next week, no sacrifice oreffort would deter us from making thejourney and suffering the discomfortof the crowds to see Him. The Truth

is, He is truly here: HE IS PRESENTBODY, BLOOD, SOUL AND DIVINITY.Too often today, the Mass is stripped of its sacrificial meaning and celebratedas if it were merely a fraternal banquet. As we move from the Old Testament to

the New Testament, we find the Old iscompleted in the New: P romise is turned into F ulfillment,

S ymbol into R eality.

T o understand the Eucharist and theMass, we must understand the Jewishcustoms and practices. We must look atthe Passover. The Jews were in slavery.God sent down a series of plagues toconvince the Pharaoh to let His peoplego. A plague of frogs covered the land,a plague of rats, a plague of locust, and then came the tenth plaque. The Angel of Death was to kill all the firstborn sons of the land of both the Jewsand the Egyptians. The only way toescape that death was to offer up asacrificial meal - a male lamb withoutblemish, having no broken bone, wasto be strung up and sacrificed by aknife piercing its heart. The people  were then to wash themselves withthe blood of the lamb. The blood wassprinkled with a hyssop branch onthe doors of their homes. When the  Angel of Death came over the land, all those with the blood of the lambon the door were spared the death of their first born. The Passover bondedthe people of God through the blood of a lamb. The feast was celebrated each year, renewing their covenant with God

and reminding them how faithful Hehad been to them. They could trust God Who would always save them.

P assover established a C ovenant

withG od; I t was a sacred family

B ond that had to be renewed.E   very time, they ate the meal, theyrenewed the Covenant. To the Jew,blood had deep meaning. It had aprotective value, a unitive function, andalso a purification quality. Passover wasa memorial of the saving act of God which pointed to the future messianic

celebration of the Coming of Christ.Let us leap forward 2,000 years to theLast Supper at which Jesus did a uniquething. At the Passover meal, He tookbread into His Hands and said,  “Thisis My Body that is given up foryou.” (The Lamb is now Myself.) Jesus was to be the Sacrifice. All the things thathappened in the Old Testament were

brought to perfection and completion inJesus Christ. Every time, the priest says, “This is My Body, this is My Blood,” God is renewing His Covenant. Thelamb is not just sacrificed but eaten ina holy meal. The ultimate goal in thesacrifice is not so much the killing asthe communion of souls restored toGod by the eating of the lamb in the

shared meal - the sacred family bond. “Unless you eat My Flesh anddrink My Blood, you will have nolife in you." (John 6-53)

Jesus wanted us to be present at theLast Supper and on Calvary, but this  was not possible. So, He made theSacrifice perpetual. The Sacrifice of

Jesus is repeated for all eternity, century after century, year after year, day after day, at the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. It telescopes itself across time.Christ’s once and for all Sacrifice is

represented at the Altar in the Mass. The word  PRIEST implies SACRIFICE

.The Mass is PERPETUAL and ETERNAL .

T he Mass is the S acrificeof the N ew C ovenant:

P romise to F ulfillment,S ymbol to R eality!

A s often as the Sacrifice of the Crossis celebrated on the Altar, the work of

Redemption is carried out. It didnot end on the Cross. The work ofRedemption continues here and now.It transcends time! The Mass is not anew Sacrifice but a representation. Itis the unbloody renewal of the One andSupreme Sacrifice of Christ on Calvary. The Mass is the bloodless Sacrifice,Calvary made present. It spans the

Ages. During the Mass, we should placeourselves in the chalice and ciborium. In this way, everything we have: ourneeds, our sufferings and sacrifices, joysand cares, our entire life will be offeredby Jesus to His Father in Heaven for us.This is our priestly sacrifice as a priestlypeople. In this way, the Mass becomesintimately connected to our every day

life where it reaches its full meaning.C hrist is present to us in many ways:present in the community when twoor more are gathered in His Name inprayer, He is present in the poor andafflicted, He is present in the heart of a baptized Christian through Faith. But, Christ’s presence in the Eucharist

is unique for His Sacred Humanity ispresent. John’s Gospel was written years after Mathew, Mark and Luke; and whenhe wrote about the Last Supper, he gaveus the theology of it in greater depth. “Unless you eat My Flesh and drink

My Blood, you will have no life in you.” History testifies to what the Church hasalways taught. The doctrine of the truepresence is backed by Scriptures andtradition. At the transubstantiation,Christ’s Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity are made present. This remains foreverthe teaching of the Church. The wordsthe Church uses are most important.

Our Faith has a language! For thesacrifice to be real, the Victim must bereal. Jesus Christ gave us His sacredhumanity so we could become one withGod in the fullest sense. We becomepartakers of His divine nature. Webecome true sons and daughters of the Living God. EUCHARISTIC ADORATION

T he Sacred Species reserved in theTabernacle is to be adored becauseChrist is substantially present. Themystery of the Eucharist in all itsfullness is reserved in the Tabernacleto extend to us the Grace of the Sacrifice.

The Church and the world have greatneed for Eucharistic worship. Jesus waitsfor us in His Sacrament of Love. Letus be generous with our time in goingto meet Him in adoration, and incontemplation that is full of faith andready to make reparation for the greatcrimes of the world. May our adorationnever cease! Such visits are a proof of our gratitude and an expression of ourlove and a concrete acknowledgementof Our Lord’s presence. Every time,  we genuflect when we come into theChurch or walk past the Tabernacle,or spend time before the BlessedSacrament, we are making a publicprofession of Faith. We are saying that we truly believe Jesus Christ is present,

Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity in theHoly Eucharist. We must go by Faithnot by sight. If only we could graspthe brilliance and luminescence of Christ’s Divinity present in the BlessedSacrament, we would fall on our knees

before our Creator! When will Christ’slight shine through our mediocrity andspiritual blindness? Do we really believeGod is present? We spend hours goingto a football game or running to theMall for a sale, but how few people willspend ten minutes before the BlessedSacrament. Our chapels for adorationshould be packed. It is not enough to

believe, we must act like we believe. Our chapels are empty and our gesturesare meaningless or non-existent. All of this is an external manifestation of ourloss of belief in the real presence of Christ in the Eucharist. We have gotto get it back in our parishes and wemust do it today! We need to restorereverence for the Holy Eucharist. It

starts with you and I. We need to setthe example. By our genuflections, byour silence in Church, by our visits toOur Eucharistic Lord and, by makingfrequent holy hours, soon others willbe encouraged and follow suit. Ourgoal has to be holiness and the Massand the Eucharist are the ultimatefoundation of Christian holiness. No

matter what other devotions we have,if our presence at Holy Mass is lacking, our spirituality is wanting. Jesus useto retreat to the desert to escape thecrowds: now, He is alone again, but fordifferent reasons. He is patiently waitingfor us. The Kingdom of Heaven is like atreasure hidden in the field. Christ isreally that Treasure! He is the Treasure of

all treasures hidden under the appear-ance of bread and wine but truly presentBody and Blood, Soul and Divinity: toconsole, teach, comfort and heal, andrefresh us. He is the Living Bread thathas come down from Heaven: Whoevereats His Flesh and drinks His Blood willlive forever and have life everlasting.

The Holy Eucharist contains the wholespiritual Treasure of the Church that isChrist Himself! It is the Sacrament of Love:It signifies Love and It produces Love!

“The Eucharist is the Shortest andSurest way to Heaven.”

St. Pius X

To our faithful and cherished Family,

We are so thankful to all of you for your support during thesecritical days. Your outpouring of compassion, in the face of theincredible misery of so many in the world, brings light and hopeto our Family, Holy Mother the Church, America and the world.

Sheila’s husband, Steve, underwent surgery for prostate cancerand did miraculously well. He is now back at work. Thank youfor all your fervent prayers. During the past month, we have beenmaking repairs to the lovely home on Sweeny where the work willbe moved: new ceiling and carpeting in the garage, repair to floorsin the house, painting and preparation to move our office. Thelandlord put this building up for sale but, for now, we are able tocontinue here on one side cutting expenses in half. Our printingequipment is nearly obsolete as everything is digital today. We

hope to get a fair price for the press, cutter and collator.

Through this painful move and downsizing, Our Lady has openedup the most wonderful window of opportunity for us. For so many years, we havespent a huge amount to reach Africa and' help that suffering nation. In the midstof our suffering and perhaps one of its fruits, is this marvelous new blessing. Wefind that several truly devoted souls from South America are stepping forwardand asking to plant the Living Rosary in their countries ravaged by Communism,Masonry and Socialism. Dr. Debra has helped us reach into Nicaragua, Dr. Alberto

has begun a serious and solid work in Guatemala, and Javier in Cuba. We havebeautiful Spanish materials and are ready for this new missionary thrust! Let us, with vigor, take up the challenge in Latin America to restore the Kingship of Christ through the Immaculate Heart of Mary and the Holy Rosary. Surely, it isOur Lady who is asking this of us.

We, who run in the way of love, must never allow ourselves to be discouragedby anything! When we yield to discouragement or despair, it is usually because

we think too much about the past or the future. We have placed everything inthe hands and heart of Our Immaculate Mother. We are but mere instruments

ready to be used in whatever capacity she may wish to use us. The Living Rosary will celebrate its 25th Anniversary on 8th December this year, and we pray it willbe robust and strong, united and growing for this momentous Anniversary. Somany thousands have contributed greatly, in benefactions and zeal, in prayerand apostleship.

One with you in the Heart of Mary!

You are always in my prayers!

PATTI MELVIN, ULRA Director

Please pray for me!

F r. Paul O’Sullivan was born in Tralee,Ireland in 1871 and died in Lisbon,Portugal in 1958. At the age of 16, heentered the Dominican Novitiate and, then, he went on to Rome to completehis priestly studies and be ordained. His health failed him and he was abroken man. He was sent to Lisbon for

a period of convalescence. The momenthe set foot on the soil of Portugal, hishealth improved and he undertookan apostolate, the likes of which israrely the part of a single priest’saccomplishment.

At the time of his arrival in the country, religion was at a very low ebb indeed!

Masonic persecution which began afterthe Civil War of 1834, left the Churchnearly abandoned. Few went to Churchor received the Sacraments. There was little or no Catechism or religiousinstruction. Few Catholic books werepublished though vile literature wasbroadcast all over the country. Thingsdragged on like this until 1910 when the

anti-God Republic rang out their cry:NO GOD! NO RELIGION!  AlfonsoCosta declared:

“In two generations, the Catholic Church will be extinct in Portugal.”

It was a dreadful time. Revolutionfollowed revolution. Corruption wasrife. Paper money took the place of

gold and silver currency. In 16 years, there had been over 40 administrationsand twenty revolutions.

F ather Paul grieved over these tragichappenings. He befriended the richand the poor. Soon, he learned thatmany Catholics longed for the olddays when the Faith was practicedand widespread over the land. Whenhe spoke to the faithful, he referred with deep feeling to their outstandingdevotion to the Blessed Sacramentand the Blessed Virgin Mary. Portugal was the Land of Holy Mary as nearlyall the cathedrals were dedicated tothe Assumption. Fr. O’Sullivan peered through the darkness that surroundedthe Nation and beholding the gloriesof its religious past, he was fired up byapostolic zeal to devote his life and all

his energies to the work of restoringthe Faith in Portugal. All through hispublishing career, he used the initialsEDM or Enfant de Marie, Child of Mary!  What more glorious title can there be!

Catechism classes were organized ona larger scale than usual, conferencesand retreats were multiplied. In 1907,Fr. Paul began to publish a monthly

magazine which he called, O Rosario. He succeeded in having it published allover the country. Embolden by this first venture, he founded another monthlymagazine in 1916 entitled, Cruzada doRosario. These two monthly magazinesare still flourishing today and have donea great service in keeping the Rosarydevotion alive throughout the country.

In 1922, he established a Catholic Pressand began to publish Catholic magazines, books, pamphlets and instruction. Theoutput was enormous. Through the years, he wrote on nearly every subject,The Wonders of the Holy Name,How to be Happy - How to be Holy,The Life of St. Philomena, AII About

the Angels, The Secret of Confession,Visits to the Blessed Sacrament,Read Me or Rue It and many more.

At an early period in his life, Fatherdeveloped a devotion to St. Philomenathrough reading the Life of the Curéof Ars. He wrote her life story, madefrequent pilgrimages to Mugnano andhad her statue erected not only inCorpo Santo but in many churchesthroughout the world as well. On the11th of every month, he gathered thedevotees of the Saint to Corpo Santofor Mass and a sermon. During thesermon, he would read the list of favorsgranted through her intercession sincethe last meeting. As director of souls,he was much in demand. Nuncios, bishops and many in high estate as well as the poor sought his advice andadministration. He was inflexible andunyielding once he had his mindmade up, and he could attract anddominate people. His devotion to theMass was most edifying. It seemed asif he made a resolution to hear everyMass celebrated in our church. He  would leave any occupation to hearthe Mass of a visiting priest who cameat an odd hour.

Surely, our dear Fr. Paul O’Sullivan was an instrument used by Our Blessed

Mother to prepare the hearts of thefaithful for her visitation at Fatima. This was done by his powerful effort torestore the prayer of the Holy Rosarythroughout the country.

What great similarities there arebetween Father O’Sullivan’s days and our own! The governments are godless, their goal to destroy religion is nearlyaccomplished and family life is all butnon-existent.

R ecently, we had a letter from Doctor  Alberto of Guatemala sharing hissituation:

“ ou must wonder what I tell youof our special needs regarding ourhumble struggle for the Catholic Faith

in Guatemala. You know perfectly wellthat we do not fight against humanforces, but supernatural enemies ofour souls. We are confident that theImmaculate Conception will crush theserpent’s head. We are committed tospreading the Living Rosary in thisland. We are aware that Our Lady gaveto St. Dominic, through the Rosary,

the power to convert heretics andpreserve the True Faith. We trust in herpowerful intercession. We trust inour dear St. Philomena. Nevertheless, the holy Rosary is today completelyforgotten! Right now, we are totallycommitted. We would like to sharematerials for the spreading of thisdevotion to villages and distant areas.

Can you help us? We can reachmany! You can count on us!

e have been praying with our sickbrothers spreading the Living Rosaryand St. Philomena’s devotion in ourcity’s hospital and surrounding areas.Deo Gratias! St. Philomena has beena wonderful help and she has never

let us down anytime we ask herintercession! Now, we renew ourcommitment to help the suffer-ing get closer to God and we offerour prayers for all our benefactors.

rgent actions must be taken. TheProtestant sects are taking over ourCatholic families. Drugs, violenceand impurity are taking over God’s

place. Many priests have modernistand Communist ideas. We need theRosary so much! We will continueour struggle as the Rosary is theperfect remedy to bring back to GodHis social reign in Guatemala.

To Jesus, through Mary! God bless you all!”

went to a special Mass on 1st May in theafternoon at the Carmelite Monasteryin Philadelphia with my 18 year olddaughter, Rebecca. The Sisters renewedtheir vows during the Mass; it was sucha treat to witness it! I was thrilled!Rebecca went with me and, then, I tookher back to the University of Delaware. She was home for the weekend. And,hold on to your seat; attached is thebillboard that I saw on I-95 in Delawareon the way to take Rebecca back. It isnew because I go that way these daysquite a bit and I had never seen itbefore! I screamed in delight when Icaught a glimpse of it and told Rebeccato quickly take a picture with her cellphone! She told me I scared her half to death! Have you seen these before? It is unbelievable! If you cannot makeout what it says in the picture, it reads:

St. Philomena,Anchor of Hope, Pray for Us!

Praise be Jesus and Mary, HisMother! Thank you God forour Communion of Saints!

Peace and Blessings, <Ana – PA>

love your DD magazine and like tore-read all the old issues. They are alight in the darkness by which we aresurrounded. It always contains the  whole truth, the strong courageoustruth, the uncompromising truth that

does not try to win a popularity contest.Today, over 4,000 American mothersand fathers will brutally murder theirinnocent, helpless babies. Since 1973,more than 53 million babies have beenmassacred. Abortion is the mother ofall holocausts! Silence is consent. Waris punishment for sin. Let us ceaseoffending God and offer our sufferingsand prayers in reparation.  T he mission of the ULRA National Center in India is to reach out to all the Schools,Colleges and Seminaries and spread the Living Rosary devotion. The Superiorsof many schools have approached us to address the children on the power of the Holy Rosary so that, through them, the Family Rosary can be revived intheir homes. The teachers have also been enrolled so that they can follow up with the children enrolled, to ensure the Family Rosary revival in their homes.

T he Family Rosary prayer in homes istotally zero. TV serials from 6.00 a.m. to10.30 p.m. have swallowed their freetime and there is no time for prayers. This is a very serious situation in ourCatholic families. We are often invited

by the Parish Priests and Institutionheads to increase devotion to the HolyRosary and Our Blessed Mother bygiving Seminars in their Parishes andInstitutions.

Periodically, the National Center updates the Diocese with the ULRA Activities. The Report is being read by our Bishop. We have presented him with a statue of St. Philomena as a memento.

L ucifer has placed his stamp upon thepresent Age. Open and secret revoltagainst God and His Church, the spiritof criticism, unbelief and immorality arespreading like a cancer. The arrogant

boast of Lucifer rings out:“I will be like unto G od!” M en loudly proclaim their self-sufficiency and deny the existence of aSupreme Being. Government and secretsocieties plotting against God, strive toblot out from homes, schools, officesand society, all traces of Christianity.  All these frightful events convinceus that we must turn to St. Michael, the Archangel, that glorious princeof Heaven who rendered all honor toGod, conquering Lucifer and castinghim into the abyss. It is time forChristians to rise from their sleep andto offer vigorous resistance to theenemies of salvation. The weapons in

this conflict are not the arms of civil warfare, but the spiritual weapons of prayer, penance, increased fidelity toGod’s Commandments and frequent reception of the Sacraments.

T he Church invokes St. Michael the

Archangel as an Angel of superior rank, the Prince of Angels, who has supremecommand over all the heavenly hier-archies. This position of honor wasmerited by St. Michael in the battlehe waged against Lucifer and therebellious angels before the creation of the world. St. Michael and his faithfulfollowers won a glorious victory. With

the swiftness of lightening, Lucifer andhis companions were transformed intohideous demons and cast into the abyssof eternal torment and darkness. Inreward for his zeal and fidelity, he wasmade prince and commander-in-chief of all the Heavenly Legions. He is the“first lieutenant” of Jesus Christ, for he was the first to lead the faithful servants

of God to victory against the enemy.

S t. Michael is the Guardian Angel andprotector of the Catholic Church. TheFathers of the Church agree on thisunanimously. St. Joan of Arc, the Maidof Orleans, who in the 15th century savedFrance, ascribed her vocation and victories to St. Michael. Pope Leo XIII,realizing by divine enlightenment thepresent and future struggles of theChurch against the powers of Hell, composed a prayer in honor of the warrior Archangel. From his time to thepresent, the prayer was offered afterevery Low Mass. In 1960, in the wake of  Vatican II, this prayer was discontinued.

S aint Michael is the protector of everyindividual Christian and all ChristianNations. It is our duty to be faithfulCatholics, to profess our Faith openlyand energetically, and to preserve aglowing, invincible love for Jesus Christ.

St. Michael is the conqueror of Satan. In a thousand different ways, Satanplots and wars against God and triesto usurp His throne.

T he early Christians invoked SaintMichael for the cure of the sick. Duringthe pontificate of St. Gregory the Great,a terrible pestilence depopulated the

city of Rome. The Pope ordered apenitential procession under thepatronage of Our Lady and St. Michael.St. Michael appeared above CastelSant’Angelo holding a sword in hisright hand which he thrust into thescabbard. At the same moment, thepestilence ceased. Many miracles havetaken place at the Sanctuary of Mont-

St.-Michel in Normandy, France.

N ot only during life does the glorious Archangel Michael defend and protectsouls, but he is their special advocateand counselor at the hour of death. When the final hour of our earthy careerdraws near, and we are confronted by

that awful moment in which our soulmust leave the body which it has lovedso much, satanic hosts, like ravaginglions, will make their last attack on us.If we have had devotion to St. Michaelduring life, he will assist us at the criticalhour of our death. St. Michael is theadvocate and incontestable helper of the Holy Souls in Purgatory.

S t. Michael is the Guardian of the MostBlessed Sacrament. As such, he seesthat thousands are given the grace toembrace Christ sacramentally. When theend of the world draws near, he will wagea final battle against the Antichrist, whoby false miracles will endeavor toseduce even the Elect. Let us pray often with great confidence to St. Michael,

champion of the Cause of Christ.

Oh most Noble Prince of the AngelicHierarchies, valorous warrior of AlmightyGod, and zealous lover of His glory, terrorof the rebellious angels, and love anddelight of all the just ones, my belovedArchangel Saint Michael, desiring to be

numbered among thy devoted servants,I, today, offer and consecrate myself tothee, and place myself, my family, andall I possess under thy most powerfulprotection.

I entreat thee not to look at how little I,as thy servant, have to offer, being only

a wretched sinner, but to gaze, rather, with favorable eye atthe heartfelt affection with which this offering is made. Andremember that, if from this day onward I am under thy patronage, thou must during all my life assist me, and procure for me thepardon of my many grievous offenses and sins, the grace tolove with all my heart, my God, my dear Savior Jesus, and mySweet Mother Mary, and obtain for me all the help necessaryto arrive at my crown of glory.

Defend me always from my spiritual enemies, particularly inthe last moments of my life.

Come, then, Oh Glorious Prince and succor me in my laststruggle and, with thy powerful weapon, cast far from me intothe infernal abyss that prevaricator and proud angel who, oneday, thou prostrated in the celestial battle.

F ather Martinex of theDominican Republic hasput us in touch with you. Iam the president of

. Under great

hardship, we do this workthroughout the country. Our missionis to re-Christianize the Island. Wepromote the Liturgy and essentialtraditional doctrine. This movement was founded in Cuba barely two yearsago. We seek to restore Tradition, whosemaximum expression is the HolySacrifice of the Mass. And, through this

means, to revitalize the life of Faithof our people which has almost beenextinguished by Atheistic Communism. Our purpose is the attainment of thesanctification of souls who are faithfulto God, the conversion of souls whoknow Him not and, ultimately, theEternal Glory of God!

We carry this mission forward by thehand of the most Blessed Virgin Maryunder her title, and preach her Message sent fromHeaven - the Rosary and the Scapular. The Living Rosary is very necessary tothe diocese of Cuba because it placesour focus on an external work, the

propagation of the Faith, through aunion of prayer and the correspondingannouncement of the Gospel - all atthe sacred hands of the Virgin Mary. Itis a work that will be bound by interiorconversion and the sanctification of souls. We have learned from Albert, our collaborator, about his meeting

with you at your office inDickinson, Texas and thecontents of all the gifts  you have lavishly donatedto us. It has left mespeechless. You cannot

imagine the far reachinggood you have done forthe re-Christianization of my country.

God bless you and allthe Family of the LivingRosary, which now isour Family too!!!

 We have suffered enormously through

terrible persecution,  betrayal  and  lackof understanding. The infernal enemycould not do less than to combat us without rest. I have two brothers whoare priests, who abandoned me. They wish to be Catholic, according to the world and trends rejecting the love of

Our Lady, her mediation and universalco-redemption. You have no idea how your help and friendship, together withthe prayers of all who participate in theULRA through their daily

, makeus strong. During the month of May andas the fruit of our participation in thisCrusade, Ven. Pauline-Marie Jaricot,

our saintly foundress, has blessed us with the opening of a new Chapter inthe city of La Habana, the capital of our country. Could we ask for more? Itis the work of the maternal mediationof Mary. Only in Heaven will you know,in its depths, all the good you have donefor us. The beautiful pilgrim statue of Our Lady of Fatima you donated will

visit every home. We have 1,000 families waiting to welcome her to their homes. We promise to make for you a gift of our work and our sufferings. God willbless you for everything!

St. Philomena carries a message tothe world which is absolutely critical toour Age. Today, every possible influenceis being exerted to destroy the purityof the young and the old. For us toremain silent in this matter is criminal!

According to modern psychology, sinis not sin and virtue is weakness ratherthan strength. God supplies to everycentury a saintly model that suits itsparticular needs. He saw clearly thatthe most prevalent sin in our Age issensuality. To recall the modern worldto its sense of duty to Him, He sent to itthe soul of a saint who was the embodi-

ment of the virtue opposite of this vice,PURITY! God exalted her quickly andgifted her with miracles. The fame of St. Philomena spread throughout the whole world like a bushfire. Everyone who calls on St. Philomena is helped. We are on the battle field facing theenemies of purity and we are bound

by the iron-clad law: Either FIGHTor DIE! St. Philomena resolved thatnothing in this world would diverther from her true destiny which wasHeaven. Let us, too, make the resolvethat nothing in the world will divertus from our duty to God, Who is oursole reason for existence and Who willbe our Judge and reward.

Death is coming! It is really comingnear with appalling suddenness. Are weprepared and ready for death should itcome today? In that hour, we will beseparated from life, from the world, from property, riches and family. All isleft behind save two things: the sins wehave committed and the good works

we have performed. Nothing elsematters. Sin and good works aloneare important at the moment of death.

Man has forgotten God! He goes fromone care in life to another, occupied

night and day between the feveredquest of the twin prizes: Money andPleasure. If we leave God out of ourlives and suppose that death is theonly result of life, why live at all!For Christians, life is not a hopelessriddle. Thank God for our preciousCatholic Faith which teaches us thefundamental purpose of our life here

on earth:G od made me to know, love and

S erve H im in this life, And to be happy with H im for All E ternity in H eaven!

these two truths contain the wholesum of wisdom for they are moreimportant to us than anything else in

the world. Our happiness here on earthand our Eternity of happiness dependlargely on how firmly we grasp thesetruths. We are free to fulfill God’s

purpose in our creation or refuseto serve Him. The chief test for ourfitness for Heaven is the test of purity.

We can measure the terrible nature of sin by the losses it entails. Deliberatesins against purity are mortal for, through them, a soul is slain, thegrace of God is forfeited, Heaven isclosed and Hell is opened. The firstconsequence of sin is that the unhappycreature, who thus falls, no longer caresto pray and gives up daily devotions.

He begins to doubt whether there reallyis a God or Eternity. In false shame, sinsare concealed in the confessional, thus rendering his Confessions andCommunions sacrilegious. Hardness of heart sets in and the understanding is

darkened. We must have confidence inGod, call upon Him and rely upon Hishelp, avoid all idleness and fly from allpersons, places and things which area temptation to sin. We must avoidthose substances which weaken our will to sayNO to sin, dress modestly, shield our eyes from nakedness andseek goodness, truth and beauty.

the world seeks to destroy not onlyour purity but also our very belief inpurity. Familiarity between the sexes, nudity, free love, taking partners, divorce, movies, bad companions andconstant media exposure open our soul, day and night, to the filth of impurity. Our adversary is paganism. Not the oldpaganism which worshipped idols, butthe new paganism that worships SELF!It makes man a law unto himself, whichdenies that man has a soul and afree will. The modern world doesnot believe in God or life after death.

B y the Sixth Commandment, we are

commanded to be pure men and women, to live good lives, wholesome, clean, noble, virtuous and consistent with our dignity as men endowed withimmortal souls and stamped with God’s image and likeness. We are to live thenoble life of a Christian, be followers of Christ, children of God and futureinhabitants of Heaven. Our life is to

be  consistent with our dignity as atabernacle of Our Lord, Jesus Christ,in Holy Communion. That Christianman should live the life of an animalis a contradiction and a catastrophe.Purity, then, in thought, word anddeed is commanded of us by the SixthCommandment.

W hat doesT  he S ixth

C ommandmentF orbid?

Adultery means the sexual union of two people, at least one of whom ismarried to a third person. Fornicationis the sexual union of two persons who are single.

N either F ornicators nor Adulterers shall possessT  he K ingdom of G od.

All sins of impurity and immodesty, all external actions contrary to holypurity are forbidden: all impure words, desires and thoughts. God forbidsanything that can sully the purity of our bodies, minds or souls. He forbidsabsolutely, unconditionally, at all times,in all places and under all circumstances,

any impure act whether committed  with another or alone. God’s standardfor men and women is identical. Isthis command difficult? It is the mostdifficult of all the Commandments. It is the chief test to which God putsman to determine his fitness forHeaven. Unless we make use of themeans God gives us to observe this

Commandment, we will not succeed.

Very many sins against the SixthCommandment are committed neitherin cold blood nor in overwhelmingpassion, but as a result of certain moods we fall into. If you find yourself sulking, fidgety, cranky or childish, learn to pullup quickly. Resist these moods by doingthe opposite of what they suggest. This will be for you a very healthyform of conquest and self-denial.

reawaken in us an awareness ofthe malice of sin and of the painit caused thy Son so that, by prayer

and penance, we may weep forour own sins and frequently wash

our soul in the most PreciousBlood of Jesus through theSacrament of Penance. ,

we call God ‘Father ’      because Hecreated us. But, God has actuallygiven to man the astonishing power tobe a father too; God shares His creativepower with a man and a woman to callinto existence His children. As the tinybody of the child is formed by theparents, God breathes into it animmortal soul. Try to realize the dignityand nobility of fatherhood and mother-hood. It is a power given by God thatmust not be tampered with. Sex is usedfor the purpose of begetting childrenand must be surrounded with the mostprofound respect and reverence. Itis noble. When sex is misused, thisbeautiful God-given instinct is turned

into an instrument of pleasure and itis the pleasure that is worshiped, thepleasure that is set up as god. Formany, it is a means of recreation notthe procreation of the children of God.To God, they say, “I WILL NOT SERVE!”

When we profane our bodies, we pro-fane what is sacred in God’s sight. When   we profane our bodies, we actuallycommit as great a sacrilege as one who profanes a church or altar. Thebody which the Holy Spirit animatesmust partake of His Holiness.

today, unbridled passion is called

love. IT IS NOT LOVE! It is starknaked lust. It is wrong to tamper withtruth, it is wrong to squander money,it is wrong to ruin the name of another;but can you tell me, it is not wrong totamper with the means to create life, not wrong to cheapen love and tosquander God’s creative power? Can it be right to say that sins against life

and love do not matter? The sin againstsex is a sin against life, a sin againstGod. It is a sin that God punishes evenin this life. Lust is no substitute forlove! Good God, what damnableliars these men and women arewhen they defend this sin!

to be modest, one must build for

himself a strong Christian character,a life dominated by principles:

F requent P rayer,F requent C onfession andF requent C ommunion.

D aily spiritual reading will bringto mind the great religious truths of

our Faith. Daily self-denial, habitualreflection and fervent prayer makeus strong to resist temptation. Prayeris not to be delayed to the momentof temptation, when it is too late, but daily we must ask God to giveus strength when the moment of temptation comes.

“The sins that lead most souls to Hell are sins of the flesh!

Certain fashions will be

introduced which will offend

Our Divine Lord very much...”

The words of the Blessed VirginMary to Blessed Jacinta Marto

in 1917, Fatima MODESTY

T heG

uardian ofC

hastity!

Frequent Confession will help us todevelop a conscience which is sensitiveto sin. Frequent Communion will makethe soul strong just as food taken willhelp make the body strong. Dailyspiritual reading will increase ourknowledge and love of God. The

Third Person of the Most Blessed Trinitycomes to take up His abode within usat the time of Baptism, and dwellshabitually within us until we driveHim out by mortal sin.

“I f a man will come after Me,let him deny himself, take up

his cross and follow Me!”

Our generation is given over toexcesses. They have never beentaught discipline nor have theylearned obedience. Harried parentshave given into self-indulgence and,for a peace which is false, they have

allowed the defiant child to have his way at every turn. The child will notobey, he will not study and his every wish for food, snacks, movies, moneyand video games is gratified; if not atfirst, then after a series of nagging cries,he gets his way. He has never beentaught to sacrifice, deny himself anddevelop self-control. At the root of allsin and, most especially, the sin of impurity, is the absence of self-control.To obey the Will of God and to avoid allforms of excess, self-denial is necessaryand training in self-denial shouldbegin at the earliest possible age.

We make the sacrifice of self-denial

not only for the salvation of our ownsoul but also for those in danger, today,of dying in mortal sin. My dear friends, there is a pestilence about us to whichhundreds of thousands are succumbingeach day. When a pestilence is raging,it is the duty of the parent and thepastor to warn the people against it.

The pestilence is the sin of impurity! It is as necessary to practice prayer andself-denial with regularity as it is to havetwo wings to fly. Self-denial meansmoderation in all things, resignation without grumbling, control of temper, tongue and all impulses, refusal to read what is impure or watch any video ormovie which contains impurity of

speech, action or dress, sitcoms whichridicule family life or religion andglorify unbridled license. It means that we should, every day, do somethingthat is hard and disagreeable. Self-denial is the business of training the will to choose God over creatures,Heaven over Hell, Goodness over Evil!

F ly to the H eart of Mary!

the Heart of Mary is the mirror of Godand the masterpiece of His creation, the Living Tabernacle of the BlessedTrinity. The daily rhythm of the Rosary,

that calm solitude of prayer, opens tous the mercy of God. The Mother of Jesus leads us along the high road of suffering and pain to union with herDivine Son, quietly refining andshaping our soul. Prayer obtains all.The Heart of Mary is there, let usknock! The grace of purity will begiven to us if we persevere in askingfor it. In the Heart of Mary, we will findcourage and strength. In her Heart, we will be nourished and protected.

Mary is in anguish for her childrenin sin. A mother weeps to see her childsuffer; she is deeply distressed whenthe child is in grave danger. God’s ownMother will keep her vigil throughthe dark night at the bedside of all her

mortally wounded children who havebeen separated from God’s grace due to sin. Mary came to Lourdes and Fatima,to plead with us to pray the Rosaryand do penance for sinners. We mustfly from temptation and seek refuge

in this GROTTO DIVINE!

With Mary, let us advance on thisPilgrimage of faith that we may arriveat our destination pure in body andsoul and be greeted with these words:

“Well done, good and faithful

servant! Enter into the Kingdomthat has been prepared for thee.

28

O Saint Philomena, we place our children in thykeeping. Illustrious Virgin, who so thoroughlyunderstood the excellence of purity, keep theirsouls pure and holy in the sight of God. Wise youngmaiden, who so fully comprehended the infinitevalue of eternal treasures and the shallowness oftemporal riches and power, instruct our children inthe value of things spiritual. Assist them in buildingup rich treasures in the store-house of Heaven, where their wealth can neither be destroyed nortaken from them.

Courageous Martyr, who died in torment rather than offend the All-GoodGod, teach our children a true horror of sin and a love of true virtue. We implore thee, St. Philomena to obtain for them the courage to sufferpersecution and tortures bravely rather than to deny Almighty God.

We ask these favors with complete confidence, St. Philomena, becausewe know that thou, who gave all to God, can obtain all from Him and weare sure that thou wouldst never refuse to hear the prayer of parentswho implore thy help for the eternal salvation of their children. Amen.

I would like to thank my beautifulSt. Philomena for the many prayersshe has answered for my grandson. His surgery was successful and whenhe fell into trouble, she was there forhim! Thank you, St. Philomena!

< Amayg, AZ-USA >

I am making a donation in honor of Our Lady of La Salette in thanksgivingfor prayers answered. As you know, OurLady appeared at La Salette, France  with the message about blasphemyand working on Sundays. I employedher under this title for a change in

the work schedule for my husband ashe had to work every Sunday. Theentire Boise Plant schedule has beenchanged! I prayed that not only theirminds would be changed, but theirhearts. With the new schedule, they haveSunday off and Bill’s immediate boss, who was so resistant, is talking aboutgoing back to church. God is Good!

Your post office problems sound like anepisode from the life of Ven. PaulineJaricot. May God bless all your work!

< Rita, ID-USA >

I had a lesion in my mouth on mylower gum. I had checked with an oralsurgeon who suggested that surgery wasnecessary. The procedure was going tobe very expensive and my insurance

would not cover it. I wrote to you tosend me the holy oil as I had decidedto pray to St. Philomena for my cure. You sent the oil and, after praying fora short time, and applying the holy oil,I was totally healed. I am very gratefulto God and our precious St. Philomena.May you be blessed abundantly!

< Irene - MA >

Our Reverend Sister who loves SaintPhilomena met a lady suffering withcancer. She gave her the holy oil andcord and the prayer cards and askedthe Saint to heal her. The lady wore

the cord and continued to pray withconfidence to our dear little Princess. It is a miracle! She is now pronouncedhealed of her cancer. < LEBANON >

Please accept my meager donation of $1000 in humble thanksgiving to dearSt. Philomena, all powerful with Godfor her complete and total cure of

my dear son from the horrible sinof drunkenness. All for the greaterhonor and glory of God!

< Lorraine, RI-USA >

A 22 year old youth had epilepsy. Hecould not walk, or attend school. He  was invested in the Brown Scapular, and the family prayed to Our Lady of Mt. Carmel for his healing. Today, theygive thanks to Our Lady by prayers andtears. Their son has been healed. I left Angola about 20 years ago because of the war. I was 17 years old. For all thistime, I was separated from my mother who is the one who taught us to prayand love Our Lady. Sr. Uutoni told usabout the ULRA and how our prayerscan become strong as we pray togetheras one. After I began my Decade, manygood things happened to me. I prayed with a big desire to see my mother andsiblings again and chanced to returnto Angola. When I reached my village,I inquired about my mother and theperson there knew her. I found themall in good health. It is a miracle!

Thank you for your wonderful work.May your family and team be blessed!I greet all the members of our ULRA!

< Meto  – Namibia >

Dear St. Philomena, this is Mary writingto you just to let you know I had thetwins and everything went so well. They were born very healthy, 4 1b. 10 ozand 3 1b. 9 oz. My boys have Phil andthe girls will have Philomena in theirnames too. My first boy is two yearsold, the second is one year old, and thenew born twins. How happy we are!

< Ireland >

I have chronic kidney problems whichdegenerate steadily with time. I beganpraying to St. Philomena to produce afavorable report for me. The diagnosticblood work indicates that, for the last  year and a half, my kidney functionhas remained the same. I credit thisgood report to my joining the ULRA

and my prayer to the Blessed Virgin,St. Philomena and Ven. Pauline Jaricot.< Chuck - USA >

The family of Christine Aboo conveystheir humble thanks to the ULRA. Theirson, Daniel, was born three monthsearly. He suffered a terrible illness thatthe doctors could not understand. Hisintestines were not functioning welland he could not metabolize his food.He was carried from clinic to hospitaland back to clinic. The parents prayedfervently to St. Philomena and usedthe holy oil. Without further treatment,he was healed. Today, Daniel is a bigboy of 13, going to 7th grade.

< Lira  – UGANDA >

Paulina Agyapong, told us about thestrange swelling in her daughter’s leg.The pain increased every minute. Allbelieved that only the native doctorscould cure her. She did receive a seriesof medical treatments, but it did not

help. During her stay in the hospital, Ikept the holy oil at her bedside andapplied it to her leg begging our dearSt. Philomena to heal her. Later, aboutmidnight in a vision, my daughter saidshe saw a very beautiful young ladyapproach her bed. She opened the vialof oil and anointed my daughter’sswollen leg and, then, moved from bed

to bed, anointing all the other patients inthe ward. In the morning, total healing was experienced by the sick in the wardand they were all discharged from thehospital the next day. Even the doctorsand nurses in charge were totallysurprised! The young lady, we believe, was St. Philomena. Thanks be to God!< Anthony Oduro, Ghana – AFRICA >

Through St. Philomena’s intercessionmy brother was able to receive the LastSacraments, after being away fromthe Church for over 50 years. He dieda peaceful death. Thanks be to God!

< USA >

Thank you for your many prayers of intercession. About 11 / 2 years ago, Irequested for prayers through theintercession of St. Philomena for ourgrandson. When he was 6 years old, he was diagnosed with Perthes Disease -there was no knob on his upper legbone to fit into his hip socket. Since hisdiagnosis, he has lived with a full legbrace and had to use a wheelchair andcrutches at school. Most childhood boythings had to be given up. If the bonedid not grow, he faced surgery and afull body cast. In February 2011, Jaydenhad a follow-up visit at the Shriner’sHospital and the joyful news they gaveus made our hearts leap! The bone isgrowing! The doctors have taken himoff all restrictions! Thank you all! Peaceand love. < John - MA, USA >

I promised St. Philomena $5000 if she would help my son get his car working. He has to leave early in the morningat 3 AM, for his job and it is dark anddangerous. He had to walk 3 blocks tomeet a friend to get a lift to work.

About a week after I began to pray, hedrove up in his car and it was working!I asked him what he did to get it to work. He said he just put the key in andit took off! Thank you, St. Philomena!

< Sonia - Puerto Rico, USA >

I have the Jubilee Prayer for Debtorsand the Litany of Ven. Pauline Jaricot. My son was desperately in need of afull time job. For years, he had onlypart time jobs and often he was out of  work. I prayed to Pauline to intercedefor my son. A week later, he received a

call to go to work for an airline servicecompany full time with benefits! He isso happy! < Patty - HI, USA >

I was very impressed by your booklet  with the outreach to youth. In thelate 1950s, an order of English Sisters wished to found a Catholic school inNorth Dublin. They found the ideal land  which was owned by a Protestantfarmer who refused to sell it to them. They placed many Miraculous Medalsin the soil. Sometime later, the farmerchanged his mind and sold them theland. They built a large school andconvent, Maryfield College. Later, thefarmer’s daughter attended this college!

< Frances - ENGLAND >

I slipped, fell in the tub and reallybanged my ribs. It was so painful, Icould hardly breathe or lift my arm. Iclimbed into bed and read some of Cecily Hallack’s booklet and asked St. Philomena to heal me if it was God’s

Will. Then, I prayed and placed thebook under my pillow. When I awokethe next morning, the pain was gone, breathing was easy, I could lift myarm and I was healed. She is truly abeautiful Saint and I want to thankher publically and also thank God forhearing my prayers. < Lillian - IL, USA >

Our town was nearly destroyed by the

tornado that hit Alabama. Thanks for theprotection from Our Blessed Mother,St. Philomena and the Agnus Dei yousent. < Natalie - AL, USA >

Thank you for your prayers and forthe sacramentals. I am recovering frommy major surgery and no chemo orradiation was necessary. It is nothingshort of a miracle. < Roland - LA, USA >

I had my surgery in Holy Week and wasable to attend Mass on Holy Thursday.Everything went well. The results weregood and I don’t have to take anyradiation, chemo or pills. I am surethat the many prayers offered for meare the reason everything went so well.

< Cecilia - NJ, USA >

The doctor said that I was to delivermy baby through an operation butSt. Philomena averted it through heroil and cord, and prayers offered forme by the members of St. Philomenagroup in St. Joseph’s Parish. I thankGod for St. Philomena’s intercession.

I await the Rosaries you will post for our new members. They love this devotion!I met the Bishop in Machakos on June 6, andgave him the donation for the Altar and seatsof our St. Philomena Church. He was so happy. He is very positive about making the churcha part of his parish and providing them witha priest and some Sisters. How powerful isSt. Philomena! Years of hard work and prayers,

patience and love have made this dreamcome true. < Fr. Patrick - KENYA  >

Soroti is facing many catastrophes, floods and hazard of human sacrifices, immorality and political crisis which weaken our Faith. Many churches aremushrooming and fighting against ourCatholic Church. With the Rosaries made

available to us, we will come to under-stand God’s plan. The bishops, priestsand religious are supporting us. Pleasesend us sacramentals and literatures.<Ewou Stephen , Soroti – UGANDA>

I am sharing recent photos taken at aseminar given by Julianna. My only son

was involved in a motorcar accident, but today he is OK. We now have aRosary club and there have been manytestimonies since the ULRA began. I want to be a leader in this devotion.<  Michaela, Sierra Leone - AFRICA>

Our courageous rep. in Pakistan, who

has sacrificed his life totally for theLiving Rosary, the Virgin Mary and souls, has been struck down by the fataldisease of TB Meningitis. Our marvelousapostle to Nicaragua, Dr. Debra Cole, has been advising him medically andhelping to provide medications. Debrashared with us that, even with the best

treatment, many will not survive thisillness. We are not surprised at the attackof this grave illness which is likely the  work of principalities and powers. Afzaal’s work in Pakistan for the Living Rosary has been incredibly fertile. He

publishes a bi-monthly newsletter, enrolls thousands and even amidstthe present religious persecution, hislabors bear abundant fruits. His fathercontinues the work during his acuteillness and, while his healing is slow,Dr. Debra, tells us that it is a singularmiracle, he is alive today. Please keep Afzaal in your prayers. He continues to

need help with medications and properdiet. His suffering is being offered upfor you and your families.

< ULRA Universal Center>

Miracles continue to occur throughthe ULRA. We were invited to visitLivingston which borders Zimbabwe. That family wanted us to be with themand pray for them. Their main aim wasto launch the Living Rosary in SouthernZambia which shares a border withZimbabwe. The satanists are planninga big meeting in Livingston and we needto plant the Living Rosary firmly beforethey take over. When we descendeddown the cliff, we prayed to God todefeat these enemies of Christ.

you will help me! < Ms. Addah, Mbarara University - UGANDA >

Receive my heart-felt thanks for the wonderful devotional treasury I havereceived in February 2011, which isabsolutely superb! I am so grateful for your quick and immediate response tomy requests. Darkness is gone, light hastaken over. Most major Seminarianshave joined us in the Daily Decade. Ican see their faces shine, witnessingthe interior and essential brightnessof their hearts simply because theyhave received Christ and Mary in theSacramentals aided by the ULRA.Christian life without devotions is likesoldiers in a barracks without arsenal. Beassured that the Universal Communityof the Living Rosary is praying for you!

Warm greetings from Freetown, SierraLeone! The rep. of the Living Rosaryhere, Juliana, has presented to me the

chalice that you so generously donated, leaflets on Eucharistic devotion andthe DVD entitled, The Eucharist, theGreatest Mystery of God’s Love. Shealso gave me Rosaries to be distributedamong our faithful. I am very gratefulfor the precious gifts, especially duringthis holy season of Lent. I have alreadyplayed the DVD many times because I

found the reflections on the Mystery of the Eucharist very enriching. The pic-tures are clear and the accompanyingcommentaries very good because theyinspire prayer and devotion. I wouldlike to also add that I found the entirecontent of the DVD very orthodox. There is proper use of Sacred Scripture, patristic tradition and recent pronounce-

ments of the Pope on the Holy Eucharist.I will share it with the priests, religiousand faithful in the diocese. I pray Godmay continue to bless and guide yourapostolate for the promotion of devotionto the Holy Eucharist and Our BlessedMother. < Most Rev. Edward Charles
