Decorative Technology Product Line and Application Guide

2 COVENTYA

True beauty lies beneath the surface

A consumer’s eye is easily indulged with luster

and sparkle but an enduring brand commitment

is only realized when passion meets purpose. A

stunning automobile or eye catching furnishing

will fail to sustain market appeal if the beauty

fades before it’s time. The fact is, our world

demands a reliable balance between allure and

function.

Decorative surface finishing technology from

COVENTYA provides this balance. Provocative

products that flow from our creative R&D

minds are both stunning and durable. Cutting

edge designs that deliver consistent results and

high performance processes that are simple to

use.

COVENTYA decorative finishes are the last line

of defense quality manufacturers rely upon and

with this knowledge we pursue the day with a

common objective; help our customers shine.

Timeless finishes that touch livesIn our modern world, one would find it nearly impossible for a day to pass without touching a decorative finish.

The following industries are just a few examples of where engineers, designers and COVENTYA work together to

create finished products that are both beautiful and durable.

î Consumer Goods From refrigerators and coffee machines to stereos and tools,

components plated with long lasting and engaging decorative

technology can be found just about anywhere. Popular finishes are

satin nickel and black chrome.

It’s difficult to imagine a modern automobile without decorative

finishes. Brand loyalty often drives our decisions and part of this is

the allure of attractive chrome wheels, front grills and the countless

other components enhanced by decorative technology. Don’t

forget the plastic in your car; a significant amount is plated with

COVENTYA decorative finishes.

î Automotive

î FurnishingsFrom the class, board and dining room to commercial racks

and shelves, fashionable furniture highlights the enduring

beauty of many decorative finishes.

î Sanitary/Plumbing Electroplating for plumbing and sanitary fittings is where decorative

technology really shines. Copper, nickel and chrome, often used

in combination and in a multitude of gorgeous finishes, resists

humidity, harsh cleaning and the build up of scale. The reliability of

decorative technology gives OEM’s the confidence to offer some of

the best warranties on the market.

Isn’t that what it’s all about anyway? In an industry with many outstanding suppliers it’s COVENTYA’s job to make our

customers stand out. Decorative technology that is recognizably different is what COVENTYA is known for and what

our customers have to come to expect. The following are just some of the decorative processes that enable COVENTYA

customers to truly shine.

Technology that makes our customers better

TRISTAR trivalent chrome technology offers unparalleled consistent

appearance throughout the white to black color range. Fast plating speed

and simple operation have brought widespread attention to TRISTAR

processes.

CRYSTAL bright and satin nickel processes are renowned for their

beauty, ductility and excellent Chrome receptivity.

CRITERION family of nickel processes include sulfur free, micro-

porous and micro-cracked technology that has you covered for a wide range

of applications and environments.

CUBRAC acid copper systems provide excellent levelling and

consistent brightness across a wide current density spectrum. The processes

perform well at elevated temperatures and deliver thick, pit free deposits.

has a prime objective to push technology throughout the supply chain. Regular

interaction between our surface finishing experts and engineers/designers from many

respected OEM’s yields new products, secures approvals and delivers highly profitable

Challenging the known. COVENTYA takes on what is often viewed as

the impossible. An example of this is STRATA, an interactive coating system that will

provide an impenetrable barrier to corrosion in tomorrow’s most challenging decorative

Surface finishing is a resiliant industry. There have been countless regulations over the past 40 years that

challenged our collective resolve, none more difficult than the far reaching restrictions on hexavalent chromium.

A retrospective view of the past reveals two common denominators as each barrier was overcome; innovation

and boldness.

We hope you’ll join us Beyond the Surface

Leadership offers the best view of the future

Innovation. COVENTYA is leading the charge on Cr+6 alternatives.

Across all of our product lines, an unwavering commitment to R&D has

resulted in a dramatic reduction in reliance upon this fading technology.

From Chrome free etchants for plastic substrates and zinc and zinc alloy

passivates to trivalent hard chrome, COVENTYA is pursuing tomorrow’s

technology today.

Boldness. COVENTYA understands

the value of being first to market and

our customers respect our high risk-

high reward approach. Some suppliers

prefer to wait for a technology to gain

a market foothold before making a

commitment to join in. This certainly

has its economic benefit but you know

what they say about being a follower.

The view from behind rarely improves.

COVENTYA recognizes that investing in

the future ensures it.
