Why garden with Melcourt peat-free products? All Melcourt products are made up to a standard rather than down to a price. Those used by gardeners are based on products which have been proven in use by professionals for over 30 years.
Our products are not only entirely peat-free, some are also approved as organic by the Soil Association. Our bark ingredients are Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified and most are endorsed by the Royal Horticultural Society.
Why use peat-free materials?Peat-extraction destroys wildlife habitats in some of the UK’s most sensitive landscapes and globally, the destruction of pristine peat-bogs releases vast amounts of stored carbon. It is self evident that these are both best avoided.
