You can copy our design by eye, or freestyle your own with a mixture of similar shapes. 2 To help make your colours pop against the denim, do a YOU WILL NEED • Denim jacket • A pencil or pen for outlining your pattern • Reeves paintbrushes • A mixture of fabric paints in the Jacquard Range. We used: Jacquard Textile – Yellow Ochre and Turquoise. And Jacquard Lumiere – Burnt Orange, Pearlescent Magenta and Brass. • Jacquard Textile Colour in Super Opaque White first coat with Jacquard Textile Colour in Super Opaque White. Start painting at the top and work towards the bottom, to prevent smudging. Use a larger paintbrush for the bigger areas, then a finer paintbrush for the slimmer areas and the edges of each shape. Leave this to dry for at least 24 hours, until the paint feels completely dry. 3 Now add a second coat with the coloured Jacquard paints, and also leave to dry. 4 Finally, heat set your creation by ironing on the reverse side of the denim for at least 30 seconds, using a denim-friendly temperature (without steam). Then allow to cool. Note: There are other options to extend the washability of your design – see the paint labels for more info.
